What I agree with:
1. Fangames tend to not have original storyies.

Disagree:
2. Not true. Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood was awesome.
3. Not really a cliche. True, the chaos emeralds might be in every Sonic game, but they have never really played a big
role in the games except turn Sonic into super form. The emeralds play a more important role in the story.

Agree and kinda disagree:
4. True, it's not creative when you hear about it, but I only have 20% of the story right now. This might be interesting.

I agree with you on number 3 on your post.

Here are some ways Sonic RPG aims to be different.

1. Hard work. I have seen so many fan games that have no work put into them. (not mentioning names)

2. No cheesy fan characters. I am probably put in a new character, but it won't be cliche ridden. (Awesome magic powers, able to destroy cities with a single swipe of the hand)

3. Everything is planned. I am writing the scripts for the story, planning skills, etc, all before doing them so that it can make sense!

4. If I have to say so, a good battle system.  Skills replace attacks, and they take up AP, which you can rest in battle to regain. This gives a sense of strategy in managing your AP.

okay here is a suggestion which is not just another telling you to make another game:

Dr. Eggman is Dr Robotnik (however it is spelt)

But is grandfather is also Dr. Robonik, which built the eclipse cannon.  He was locked in jail for wanting to kill everyone include him in your game as the villian instead of Eggman, Robonik is cooler
