Does it flash much? I downloaded the game, but I'm not opening the file until I know if it flashes.

No flashes.

Sweet. When I get in from work, I'm playing it. I hate how most retro games, like nes ones, are good but they flash so much. Did you know I can play DQ3 on the GBC because there are no flashes? If I play it on the nes though, well you get the idea.

Yeah, the only thing that's even close to flashing isn't even in the game yet, due to lazy programming.
Even then I'm pretty sure it wouldn't bother you, because it's so slow.

I played this through. Pretty fun, and I didn't realize I could double jump until I had completed everything. :P

Anyway, I got bored, and then drew these:

I'm going to assume you don't mind if I attempt to implement them in the game?
Because those are really good.
I really like the Taink. I think, assuming you let me, that he'll make an awesome Earth Stage miniboss.

Just so you know, I finished the Circle Guard enemy, now known as a Sirke.
The ground grunts are going to be known as Sirks.
The sentries acted kind of weird when I attempted to make them have a targeting phase, so now they just open for a second, and fire a laser at you, then sleep for three. It actually ended up looking better, and is a lot less glitchy.
I'm working on the Gondalah right now, and I took some liberties with the sprite design.
Later tomorrow, I'm going to try to make a video of the Sirke working.

Cool.

By the way, do you think you can send me midis of some of the music in the game? I want to see how they might sound as TFM's (Genesis/Megadrive-style Synth). Might go well with the style of game, perhaps?

Hmm...they might, but I'm kind of worried as how the game would take that.
It heavily dislikes big files for music, which is why it recommends midis.
And for a project as large as this, it'll mainly want to use midis.

I'll go ahead and send you the two that AFL has finished so far, though.

This game is great! I was a bit confused at parts but it was overall really cool!

Keep working on it !

I would hope they would sound nice and classic.  But, alas, not everything turns out as planned.  Still trying to come up with that regular adventure theme.

I'm only one room away from an update, although there are quite a few more glitches then I am comfortable with.

Well, take your time with it. Doesn't have to be perfectly bug-free, 'cuz it is a demo, but you know.

Yeah, I want to fix the platforms (if you try jumping while it's going down, you'll jerk around and sometimes even get stuck in the wall), as well as fix some glitchy enemies (the Jacker mainly, although he hasn't made an appearance as of yet in Fire Haven).
So mostly they're AI and collision glitches, because most of my variable systems (I.E., the Questing system) work beautifully.

I'll probably end up finishing the next demo in about a week or so, so I can fix some enemies, remap a couple of rooms so the puzzles make a bit more sense, as well as succesfully map a boss room (me and lucas divided up mapping duties, because I wanted like 14 rooms in one dungeon)
