DOWNLOAD THAT **** DOG DAMN

The second in my series of NO END IN SIGHT ENDURE TIL YOU DIE games (The first of which is Faery Flight plug plug plug plug), I introduce DEAD SHOT. I spent more time and effort on this one, and I HOWP IT SHOWS. There might still be a few bugs I didn't notice, so please tell me if you find any.

DEAD SHOT is a top-down action arcade game about shooting zombies. The story is one day there were zombies SHOOT EM BITCH

Zombies are sent to you in waves, each wave more HORRIFIC than the last. Your only goal is to survive as long as possible. And if you're a REAL MAN, you can even try MIST MODE- fighting the undead in a THICK FOG- or NITE MODE- fighting zombies in the DARKEST OF NITES.

Controls:
WASD  -  Move The Main Dude
Mouse - Aim Weppin
Left Click - Fire
Right Click - Reload
Q+E/Mouse Wheel/that key before 1 and up to 7  -  Change Weapon


Below are some extended explanations of the weapons and zombie types in DEAD SHOT. Read it if you want. I wouldn't.

WEAPONS:

PISTOL
The first weapon. Low fire rate, low damage. You know the score. The one upshot is that it has unlimited ammo. I don't know you're carrying it in a satchel or something. Okay? It's a ****ing huge satchel moving on.

UZI
Higher fire rate and clip size than the pistol. Fast and light like a... like a deadly... antelope.

HUNTING RIFLE
Packs more of a punch than the first two weapons. It's bullets can also pierce through multiple bodies. One bullet can cut through a whole line of enemies. Did you know the nazis would do that at death camps to save ammunition? That's, that's actually not a joke.

SHOTGUN
Shoots a spray of pellets, and at close range kills most zombies in a single shot. However, it only holds 2 shells and has a slow reload time.

ASSAULT RIFLE
The power of the Hunting Rifle with the speed of the Uzi.

FLAMETHROWER
Whatever else the zombies lost during infection, they didn't lose the good sense to flail around in panic when set on fire. Frying zombies renders them inneffective, and this weapon is great at dispersing huge crowds.

BEAM CANNON
Shoots a futuristic beam of death radiation. Great for efficient zombie slaying. MAY CAUSE INFERTILITY, RECTAL BLEEDING AND CANCER.

CHAINSAW
Groovy.

ZOMBIES:

ZOMBIE
Your garden variety zombies. No real trouble if they don't crowd you.

SPRINTER
Not quite past their sell-by date. These guys are a little fresher and friskier than regular zombies, and move twice as fast.

CRUSHER
Possibly a strange mutation, or possibly infected bodybuilders. All you need to know is they take twice the bullets to take down. Oh not realistic is it? **** you.

NEEDLER
The Needler's bones have cracked and contorted into the most painful shapes, protruding from their skin in thick spikes. When killed, they will fire these deadly darts in all directions.

BOOME BARFER
These bloated, waddling monsters are filled to the brim with powerful stomach acid. Let them get too close and they'll let loose like paris hilton after brunch.

SMO GASSER
It's best you take these guys down quickly. They have a deep purplish skin tone and leave a trail of toxic fog wherever they roam. Kinda like your grandparents.

REELER
Noticable for their lack of arms, strange reddish skin colour, distinctive growl and huge big flappy tongue. Yes I am aware now that from the top down view it is indisguishable from a flappy penis. You know what you can pretend it's a penis if you want. You like that? You happy with yourself now? We can call it the goddamn peenor if you want. IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT? NO DON'T EVEN. I'M DOING IT.

PEENOR
Rather than running towards you hungrily like all the other zombie types, the PEENOR prefers to bring it's food- to IT. Once it spots you, it will FIRE it's HUGE STICKY SEMEN COATED BONER to grab you and REEL you in. The SPERM is HIGHLY TOXIC and will damage you while it is reeling. To add insult to injury, if the peenor reels you all the way in, it's RAPE POISON will INSTANTLY KILL YOU.

Yeah. Rockstar talk the talk but do they ever actually follow through with an actual rape zombie?

I was having fun and then the game paused for no reason and wouldn't come back on.

I'll assume that was a design feature meant to cause disorientation.

That game si brimming with potential. If you added an permanent upgrade system, a map
which let you replay levels and move around and some map variablilty, you'd have yourself
a full-blown game!

Very nice game! I like how you can go into the game directory and change the music. It's a neat touch.

Barfers and Sprinters are by far the most annoying. Smoggers (Or whatever) and Floppy guys are alright, since it seems the smog doesn't do too much damage if you just dip into it for a second, and the floppers have a nice good warning period that allows you to prepare them a Hunting rifle shot or beam cannon shot. Just saying. It's my opinions.

(That, and the Barfers and Sprinters are a lot harder to distinguish from other zombies than the last two classes.)

Beam cannon and Flamethrower and the two best of their classes. Beam cannon for its ability to zap enemies from afar in rows (outclassing the hunting rifle), and the Flamethrower for just being able to fry up huge crowds with very minimal ammo usage. If both are used in short bursts, they can be very, VERY effective zombie killers.

EDIT: Got a new record on normal. Try and beat this one! (should be the 2nd score screen down.)

Well it's only meant to be a little arcade runt thing but to be honest I had considered making a larger game with the same basis. If I have the patience.


Goddamn bluhman you are the friggin man.
I barely get G-FGoG and I made the damn thing. Also, good insightful analysis. If you can believe it the barfers were originally twice as strong... but that was just... terrible.

Zombies can keep their blue turtlenecks.
Sprinters should have yellow t-shirts with black sleeves.
Crushers should totally have wifebeaters on... Though, seeing as how none of the zombies have their torso's really visible, save for the Barfer a bit, I don't know how that could be depicted.
Needler, I think, should have no shirt. I'd think it would fit the whole "painful growth of bones coming out of body, ergo, ripping its clothing up" shtick, methinks. Also, maybe a different skin color, such as orange.
Barfer should have a messy T-shirt on or something.
Last two already have modified colors. They'll do fine.

EDIT: Can I haz some of the sprites used in the game? I want to see how some of these designs might look.

I'm on holiday right now but when I'm back I'll be sure to send some your way. I wasn't aware that it was that difficult to tell the zombies apart- but I guess that's just because I'm used to them. Wouldn't at all be aversed to recolouring them.

EDIT: Fixd a bug wot lets you start a new game with the weapon you were weilding in your last game.

Damn man, this game is fun as hell. I loved the beam cannon man and the flame thrower. The only thing that slightly let me down was the shotgun, it should have more power than that. Also I couldn't switch back to my pistol, ut that wasn't really a problem because I didnt use it after I got the uzi anyway. But yeah extreme WIN, you've inspired me to go back and expand on survive like people hae been wanting me to.
