For digital music I usually use MP3, but OGG support went up so I've started using it too. Like for Unreal and sometimes on Doom. Never knew somebody added it to RM2K3.

I dunno, but I've used ogg in all of my games, practice run or real project. I'm startin' to get very weirded out now. I know RMXP has ogg support, but I stopped using that. Oh well. Lucky me.

So is Cocaine, murder, rape, and robbery.

And all of those are far more fun than any game making system.

Game Maker is pretty cool and lets you make stuff that you cant do on RPG Maker, but this thread is called "which is the best rpg maker" and game maker aint even done by enterbrain. Why is it on the poll? =P

RPG making software, not "Best part of the RPG Maker series" thus making game maker a valid choice.

My whole outlook could be wrong, but ogg files are as high quality as wav, good for looping.  However, the file sizes are smaller.  A typical wav about 26 seconds long could be as big as 2 megabytes while an ogg the same length will be around 150 kilobytes.

That's not entirely true. I got a wav and an ogg that are about the same length with the wav bigger, but with another pair (oddly enough, same length >.>) with the ogg bigger.

Ogg (Ogg Vorbis file) is a form of streamable audio format that is used nearly as widely as MP3. It is a container format that compresses the digital audio. It is also open source and patent-free. It's also connected to a video format too that can be multiplexed with subtitles, alternate audio tracks and stuff, pretty cool really, but the audio is more widely supported. Personally I am split between OGG and MP3, either/or are fine as long as the program in question supports it. Support for them is nifty since they cut down file size rather than using a WAV.

Just thought I'd give you it in a nutshell (kinda).
