Policeman cut in half.
« on: August 23, 2009, 06:58:55 PM »
Very graphic! NSFW stuff! I have no qualms if this thread is locked or deleted.

After Archems spaz; if you really want to see the video PM me a request or google "Policeman cut in half" (first link). Warning! The video DOES autoplay so if you KNOW you get squeamish when seeing real life gore, don't click the link.

The psychology of man is very intriguing. I'm finding some of replies, opinions, and reaction to this very fascinating. What you do in the same situation? What if you were there and part of the audience?

How is he not screaming in pain?!
I'm practically blacking out just looking at it...

EDIT: I...I...I couldn't finish it.
It literally hurt to look at.

I'd probably vomit and then stare.  Not trying to be rude but that's probably what I would do.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if some jack***es started pulling out camera phones and laughing.  Some people are like that unfortunately.

I think he entered shock. I'd imagine the pain would have perhaps overloaded his mind.

EDIT: Ok, watched a bit of it.

Based on how it starts, I'd say he's been like that for a while, meaning, by now, he probably has either gotten tired of screaming in pain, or it's dulling or something... Weird. Why is everyone just driving past? Isn't somebody going to do something!? I mean, surely somebody called an ambulance, but nobody at least personally look after him or tend to his current wounds? I mean, how did this even occur in the beginning? If they were going to be dealing with situations that would potentially risk getting cut in half, why didn't they have emergency medics or something?

Ouch.
Watched the whole thing. It doesn't get worst, it's pretty much the same for the whole video.
I guess it hurts so much that it doesn't hurt. I love people's reaction. Filming it, observing it, talking, etc. Although I must admit I wouldn't know what to do either. I mean, it's not like you could help him at this state.
However, perhaps having someone closer to him to talk to him while waiting for the ambulance (if someone did call an ambulance) and someone to try to keep people from filming (like blocking the view by being close to him) could've been a good idea.

I think he died.  That's what everyone is saying.  Apparently he was giving his dying interview, with no one around him he knew.

And to make it worse, it probably could have been avoided.  That must be an upsetting thought to have as you die.

In the meantime, people drive to work and back, maybe snatching a glance at the dying man on the curb.  They don't have to worry about it, the air conditioning and radio keeps them comfortable.  They might mention it to their families at dinner.  Then the conversation shifts to that funny show that was on earlier or how delicious the noodles are.  At night, some might have troubled dreams.

But I think most will forget it.

Bystander effect.

"The probability of help is inversely proportional to the number of bystanders. In other words, the greater the number of bystanders, the less likely it is that any one of them will help."

Something to think about anyway.

I recall reading about a murder that occurred a while ago. Several people witnessed it clearly and got a good view of the murderer, but all of them assumed that one of the other witnesses would have gone to the police, so none of them did. The truth was only uncovered years later. People is nuts.

Yeah in case anyone was wondering; the guy DID die. Found this little excerpt:

He died shortly after the accident. Before he died, he asked for a phone to call his wife and children, however when people asked him for the number he did not reply. He then asked for a nurse and hospital, and in the end he just said, "I'm just gonna die here".

Well, they think like "OMG dead man. Oh well there are hundreds of people here, I am sure one of them is going to help.". But hundreds of people think the same thing.
If there are only a couple people there, they are going to help, because there is nobody else there.

Maybe some people enjoy looking at someone dying, and they don't offer to help because they don't care much about what will happen with him.
We live in a crazy world, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the case!

I think most of us watched it because deep inside we are curious about everything.  Especially what disturbs us.

I don't care if you disagree or agree with that.  It's just my opinion.

Is it bad that this video isn't having much of an effect on me as I watch it?
