You know, I think I've finally come to accept that I like Protest The Hero. I figured the vocalist would never grow on me (way too whiny for my tastes), but I guess I thought the same thing about Between the Buried and Me (except for the whiny thing), and now they're one of my favorite bands.

That said, I can only really recommend Scurrilous. Kezia is kind of meh. Fortress is good, but it gets old fast. Haven't heard Volition, so I can't speak about its quality, but if they're improving like their previous albums suggest, it's probably pretty cool.

I've never been able to get past how goofy his music is. It's truly amazing songwriting, but it's always ruined by the humor. It's a shame, but I can't help how I feel.

As far as music I'm listening to goes, I've been listening to a lot of Riverside recently. Right now, though, I'm listening to Overkill.

I kinda feel the same. Listening to a live recording really brings him to life though because you can imagine how the audience felt like they were on the same wavelength as him.  One nite stand isn't quite as crazy which is why I like it.

Zappa as in Frank Zappa? He sure is satiric. Which is kinda funny seeing how his Bobbie Brown hit big here in Scandinavia, people loved it. However... I fear that few people understood the lyrics back then.

The new Mastodon. It's fantastic. A good middle-ground between their heavier, more prog-oriented past and the more fun, accessible The Hunter album that came before this one.
