So who wants to be part of my Tribulation Force after the believers get beamed up to Heaven? We'll be all battling the antichrist 'n ****.

The most useful argument that at least Jehovas is using is that "Nope, god didn't think it was quite the time yet, we need more followers of the true faith before the rapture will come to be."

Or simply "All jews must return to Israel for Jesus to return to us and bring judgement"

It's idiots like this who give all religions a bad name. Saturday will come.

That's the day I visit my parents and I haven't seen them in a year so...

Suddenly I feel like taking the hour-long journey to Tacoma.
That party sounds like fun.

The FLDS prophet had a habit of making doomsday predictions, too, and whenever they proved wrong, he'd just tell the flock, "Welp, God told me you guys sinned a little too much to ascend to heaven right now, so he's going to postpone."

So, how's everybody going to celebrate the end of the world?

I'm going to walk up to Jesus and say "Sorry, bro. I didn't think this was going to happen for a long while."

*insert obligatory Mexican joke here*

Let's be clear: May 21st is the rapture, not -- technically -- the end of the world...although according to the Family Radio nutbag, there will be massive quakes.

October 21st is the end of the world.

Wow, the wikipedia article on the rapture is terrible.
It has about 6[citation needed] full sized paragraphs before the content box, and it's positively riddled with [citation needed].

But yeah.
I know that 3% of the worlds population doesn't really qualify for "OMG, everybody is going to die" but still.
End of the world sounds a lot more interesting than "A (relative) handful of people go to heaven, and then five months later everybody dies"

Probably until May 21st comes and goes with no issue whatsoever, and all of the people who believed in this feel like a bunch of idiots.

Also, Val, I'd like to join your army. Sounds like a party.
