I Live Here
« on: June 02, 2011, 08:55:30 PM »
So, some crazy weather patterns around where I live. I can literally drive 10 minutes down the road and find destruction from the recent storms that came through Western Massachusetts. Yesterday, around 4 PM, powerful thunder storms started rolling through my area. They spawned an unknown number of tornadoes. Something like ten cities and other communities have been destroyed. Tornadoes don't happen in Massachusetts. There's mountains, trees and lakes that hinder that. An outbreak of multiple, deadly, tornadoes is so rare it's ridiculous. It's pretty crazy over here right now.

That really blows, but at least your town didn't get destroyed. Are there supposed to be more bad storms in the future?

GLOBAL WARMING! THE END IS NEAR!!!

I heard something about that, but I don't know the full story yet.
I assume you're alright though, correct?

Maybe the rapture is late :o

But seriously, yeah...that's kinda bizarre.
It'd be like if Washington suddenly got a hurricane.

Yeah, luckily I'm fine. I live in Holyoke, which is a short drive north of Springfield. Its just awe-inspiring how close it was. I drive down that highway. I don't know. My step dad has some family living in springfield, luckily they're okay and their houses aren't damaged. But I've heard so many stories from friends and customers where I work. One woman walked in and just told me her house was gone. She seemed fine, like she was still in shock.

Okay, I stand corrected.
Apparently there was a tornado a mile away from where I live on Friday.
And, two months after I was born, bigass hurricane happened in Olympia.

...yeah, I should do my research a bit better.

Man, this is WEIRD.

My first thought. My second thought was "so what? I get that kind of **** all the time", but then I didn't comment because I thought it wouldn't be in good taste.

Neither thought was in good taste.

I should b eglad that my area has no tornadoes or hurricanes. Ever. Not for the past few thousand years, at least, and I don't think it's going to change any time soon.

I read the US gets about 90% of the world's tornadoes.

We've had a lot of tornado warnings around here lately, but nothing has actually happened. Hopefully nothing does, though a very messed-up part of me wants to see a funnel cloud from a distance just to see what it looks like in person.

Anyway, I'm sorry to anyone here who has friends or family who were affected by the tornadoes...I can't imagine what I'd do if something like this were to happen around where I live. =\

Retiring the deadlines because I think I've proven that I can get stuff done. It might come on my own time, but it will be better quality that way.
