Indeed it is/was.  I wish I had time to make that nowadays... I was just started on a new arc as well...

As a person I have changed so many times, it feels like every 2 years something has changed drastically. Maybe.

I am certainly not that guy from 2003 though.

I think I enjoyed Charas the most when I was a crazy admin merely trying to keep the forum afloat. I mean, you can say what you want about these days being easy and all of us being able to chill and that being the ultimate goal of any online community, but back then, when we were getting spammed by forum trolls and I was tracking down other forums they had hit that were dried up rotting husks, well, thing seemed a lot more lively. I really WANTED to spend a lot of time on Charas because it needed a lot of help.

If I wasn't a lazy bastage I'd make an RPG game out of THAT. But I am so I won't.

Since then, I've never had the togetherness that you all apparently have now. I haven't felt like a part of this community in three or four years. There's not much incentive to really care. We don't even make many RPGs. The few people that had ideas on how to spruce things up, like Gem and Moose, seem to have wisely chosen other, easier battles and moved on with their lives. It's saddening.

I've become even more skeptical of release dates for games, RPG or not.

Not sure if you noticed but bots are posting like mad. There's still loads to be done. I mean, its not as fun, since they will never stop and you can't interact with them - but they still keep me, mods and admins busy. :P
Shrug. Nobody knows enough about the forum to make them stop and I can't be bothered to delete their posts most of the time.

Give me Mod Powers and I will bother deleting their posts when no one is around!
And yes, I know asking like this will simply results in this never happening.

So I'll just wait and try getting the Mayor status when the elections are held!
Just don't forget that a vote for me is a vote for the Strict Totalitarian Omnipresent Party (STOP).

Charas also kinda helped me with my English, even though I do believe it was pretty good (though not perfect and still isn't) to begin with. Arrogance? Maybe...
It also helped me a little with creativity. Just too bad that nothing ever leaves my mind...

I'd do it too, but I'm pretty sure that the admin/mod opinion of myself isn't too high.
Mostly because I'm an immature twatwaffle.

P.S.
This is easily my favourite place on the net. It's the only thing that has left such an impression on me, that it has actually changed my attitude on real life.
I do care enough about this place to try and make it better...the only thing really stopping me is lack of ability.

Wasn't there some talk about adding some addon to the forum that blocks usernames from a database of bots?

Anyway, I was 9 or something when I came here and it made me realized that no matter how hard I try, I will never complete a game.

That's not true, I bet you can complete a game by the end of the week. Hell, I bet all of us could if we just didn't get such grand ideas for the projects we're working on.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, charas. Honestly, I've spent so much time on this forum, it's absurd. And post count really doesn't reflect how long it feels.

If you're Lucas, or Darkfox, or even my humble self, then yeah, post count can really reflect the passage of time.

Think about this: This forum has almost been around for a decade.  I mean, its getting pretty close.  That's a long time on the internet.

I think I'm a fundamentally different person from before I used RPGmaker and joined charas to now. Losing Story of Palis was probably the worst and best thing that happened to me in high school- it meant I'd spent 3 years on something that would never come to fruition, but it made me explore other options and to continue film making after graduation.  I also learned how to sprite, and how to understand basic coding...made me do a lot of visual art out of necessity. I don't think I would have even the basic drawing and painting skills I have now if it weren't for me being forced to make facesets and sprites. As odd as it sounds, doing battlesprites forced me to learn anatomy.

Also as weird as it sounds, Freddie and Lucas have been my friends longer than anyone I know in real life. I'm really lucky to have been able to grow up with them, even if they're miles away.
