Haven't touched pot or any drugs really (family history of mental illness is not something I want to add to), but I drink frequently. I can hold my alcohol like a champ, so long as I don't mix different kinds of alcohol (that ends very badly. Oh so badly). Can't stand beer or wine though, I stick with spirits, usually Bourbon, Rum or Vodka. Although I can only stand most alcohols if I dilute them a lot with coke/orange juice/insert beverage here, or just do shots. The worst thing I've ever done when drunk was puke everywhere, and that was the result of mixing wine, bourbon, vodka and god knows what else in quick succession. I didn't even drink a large volume of alcohol, just made the mistake of mixing.

I wouldn't mind drinking I guess, but it costs so damn much and I have better things to do than spend it on the one-time-fuzzies

[...]it actually improves lung performance. Many famous brass/woodwind players smoke it, because in the process of smoking, you take a deep breath and hold it, and then release, which actually increases lung strength.
The problem with that little theory is that you're holding smoke in your lungs, which is pretty unanimously agreed upon as being absolutely awful for your lungs.
Admittedly, good pot has very mild smoke, but it's still smoke.

Now vaporizers, that's another story.
Vaporizers are awesome.

But all those are just a history of me, now I'm clean and healthy for I all slowly erasing each in my brand new life. Church/religion? absolutely, nope...! It just came out in my mind to wake up of long time nap. Actually, the latest anniversary I celebrate is my first free of nicotine last 2 days ago.

I like these semi-intelligent bots. I'm not killing them, because they're almost like having new members.

Almost.

Good to see someone else isn't ignoring the obvious flaw in that theory.

What if you "touch" someone who smokes? Would you get killed for it?

There's also the issue that the majority of pot smokers often make mixes which have tobacco in them, which definetly ISN'T good for your lungs.

Up to 80% of house fire deaths are caused by the smoke rather than the fire.

Smoke is bad, doesn't matter what it's from.

I have never heard of anyone doing this before  O.o

Smoke in general isn't good for you, but pot smoke is better than most. The reason cigarette smoke is so bad for you is all of the added chemicals they throw in, and these chemicals kill tissue in your lungs. While pot smoke also coats your lungs with residue, it is an all natural substance that your body can break down very quickly, and in general, won't kill your lung tissue. It also helps if you filter the smoke with water, because that removes a lot of the residue.

I also believe pot should be legalized. No one has ever died from pot, it is physically non-addictive, no long term side effects, and in general, no one gets wild, violent, or dangerous like some people get with alcohol.  It also has a lot of great medical uses. For example, my girlfriend's mom had a car accident and was pretty much disabled. She was in and out of surgery for years, and was on a constant supply of Vicodin and other powerful pain relievers. She got addicted to them and started feeling really moody and shitty all the time, but had no choice because of all the pain. I gave her some marijuana, which she used as an alternative pain killer, and it really helped her. My room mate's grandpa was also helped by pot. He had terminal cancer and was given less than a year to live, but then his doctor came up with some experimental procedure where he boiled the THC out of marijuana leaves and put it into pill form. The THC, when in the blood stream, attaches to fast growing cells in the body, and in a cancer patient, it's the cancer cells. Long story short, in a few months all of his cancer was gone, and he was completely healthy.

Hey, I don't mind if people here doubt me, I've seen the research, and I've seen it first hand. My buddy has been a severe asthmatic for his entire life, until about two years ago, when he started smoking pot (he moved to Vancouver... go figure). He used to have to see a doctor twice a month, but now, there is no problems at all. The pot smoke helped relax the muscles of the lungs, and fixed his asthma.

While in general smoke inhalation is bad for you, so is drinking a poison chemical, or putting a poisonous mineral on fries, (and I'm sure there are many other things I can't think of).

I should point out that smoking from a bong/water pipe is much better for you than smoking a joint, because the paper burning isn't good.

And all those house fire deaths because of smoke, it's not because of the pure smoke, it's because of the chemicals in the wood that houses are built with, or the melting of plastic to make tvs and computers, and so many other things

Maybe it's unique to Australia or something, cause it's really widespread here.
