So, I just tried the first day and I can barely type because my muscles are so tired. And I feel like I'm going to vom everywhere. Anyone else try it? I think I'm going to stick with it, cause I think it definitely works. Anyone else even exercise on charas? haha

I believe AFL is referring to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beachbody#Insanity
, it seems to be one of those newer exercise regimens.
I used to workout religiously when I was in college, more recently time constraints in the day from work leave me with trying to eat healthy to avoid the typical programmer gut. So far it isn't working...

People willl tell you hundreds of ways to work out, but in the end of it all, all you need to do is just hmm... work out. The only way you'll become strong is if you push urself to the limit. And don't pussy out and use machines 100% of the time, free weights are how you do it!! You have to eat right too cuz lifting is only half the battle. If you wanna gain size, you gotta eat like 4 to 5000 calories and take in lots of protein. I plan on sticking to my 140 to 145 weight range. I unfortunately only max out on bench at 275...

The most difficult thing to do is start, but take baby steps. Do not underestimate the benefit of walking. Wake up 30 minutes earlier than usual, and just walk a mile. You wont waste any time, although you will lose some sleep, but the energy you will get from it will pay off in the end. Eventually turn this walk into a light jog, and before you know it, a run. I'd say once you can handle a light run without vomiting, and then worry about specific regimes. My workout isn't that intense, I run half a mile (800 meters), walk a quarter of a mile (400 meters), rinse and repeat 3 or 4 times.

I've tried to get into bike riding for about an hour a day. I already walk for about 20 minutes a day. All about that cardio, right?

I had already been jogging about 4 miles everyday before I started this, and I think that kinda warmed me up into doing more exercise. Although, its only been a couple days and I'm already starting to feel like. Doesn't help I did it before work today where I just stand for 6 hours straight.

Lifting helps you lose fat too. Try doing some push ups and pull ups. start off with say 4 sets of 25 push ups and eventually make ur way to 1000 push ups in time. If wanna have fun while working out, go climb trees and cliffs. explore your home and if you live in a city, that sucks lol.

I think I'll start with a more reasonable number of push ups. Something I can actually do.
Like, one.

Lifting doesn't really make you lose weight though, that's why there are all those strange exercise group-pass thingies that's more about doing tons of exercises with light weights rather than a few intense ones with heavy weights. Kinda.
Cardio vs strength. Few heavy exercises results in bulk while many light exercises results in a more slimming matter. Both increases strength and cardio. just on different levels.
If you're a really heavy person - don't do jogging, might bust your kneecaps. And that's bad. Swimming or bicycling is way better where the firstmentioned is the best.
If we're talking about losing weight it's mostly just about using up more than you eat each day. Any exercise makes it easier to stay at +/- 0 if you want to eat like a rational person. Exercise some more or eat a little less and the scale will tip making you lose weight continuously. Eating white meat also works when trying to cut down, less fat and such in that stuff.

I have to stay somewhat in shape for work. I haven't tried Insanity yet but I have tried some 90x routines. Those workouts
kick my ***
are amazing. I don't really lift weights but I want to start when I get to my next station. I've been a lazy *** on leave for the past month, but I ran and did the 90x workouts at a regular rate.
Exercise is great for everyone, but if you want to get somewhere, have clearly defined plans and goals. If you want to just gain muscle weight, like daoman89 says you have to eat, but you also need to eat for rest and recovery, specifically for your body type. Its better if you can get a nutritionist, or even someone into health to help you figure out a diet plan. If you are just trying to lose weight, consider afterburn. Certain workouts, specifically free-weights like squats and dead-lifts, will help you burn calories even after you're done in the gym. With weight-loss eat less and exercise more is the general rule, but some muscle can help your metabolism, which does help you lose weight.
I was never really an athlete, but I've still been in okay shape.
