I've read your point and well, it's alright. Not every review can be perfect ; I did contact you because I found your other reviews funny and wondered if you'd like to play my game and do a review/playthrough of it.

You can delete this current review and have another take at it if you want, although you could also keep it online for the sake of posterity (it's your blind run reactions after all) ; I'm still curious as to the second set of videos for the review (if you got better with them) as you mentionned at the end of part 4 that this is the first half of your initial run of the game.

Regarding the game itself...

From the point of view of the creator, the review is a bit unfortunate because it doesn't really showcase the game too well... and considering the game was designed to be Let's Played/be commented upon, that is problematic. I partly blame my own style for it ; I tend to really get carried away when I create games, even joke ones. The game is meant to be beaten faster than the first game, where I dramatically overshot my mark, but it's still a rather long game for a joke game (especially if one is determined to go through all of the extra content).

I think another take would be really best ; you've missed an entire stage worth of jokes after all. Not only that but the mix of the intro and the stage 2 transition cutscenes playing back to back meant that it took 2-3 videos until gameplay could be seen (although the intro is long like Gulpy Gulpy's, it wasn't meant to fill up two videos back to back).

As for the 'yiff' thing... as stated above, each stage is themed around a different gimmick/type of stupid thing. Stage 2 is themed after 'furry' characters and other such stereotypes (hence the cosplayer & catgirl enemies as well as why they rave on and on about it despite the fact that you're only there to beat them up). So in short, it was on purpose.

Yeah, I think I'll do a take two on it when I'm prepared to do so. However, this time I'm going to be fair and tell you well in advance that my work schedule is really not favorable for this, so I'll do it when I feel ready.

Not sure what I'll do with the original yet, though. We'll see.

Long ago I had made a rating system similar to Metacritic, except all flocked over in traditional crappy games manner.  I can't  seem to find it however.  I guess I can make a new version.

IMO you don't need to be professional or anything... this is done for entertainment's sake.

If she missed a level, oh well. Games have optional content, and if the optional content doesn't go with her desire to keep the game short, then it shouldn't be videoed.

I for one didn't finish watching because it was so long and boring. Too much dialog, too many turn based battles, and control of only one character.

A future idea, you could always take out the random encounters in the video. Show the first one or two then be like "for time's sake all random encounters have been cut out".

A rating system would be cool with your videos. Because, personally, I think Natako does a great job reviewing stuff, even when it bores the hell outta me. But seriously,
I always thought the crappy games contest was about making something at least remotely funny or obscure, but nowadays, a lot of submissions seem to just be drawn
out and lacking in any humour. MissingName's game was hilarious with the item collection, but there's still piles of games which are just heavy in dialogue and random encounters.

We need a rating system to inspire people to put in more effort into making stuff not just crappy, but truly abysmal!

Yeah, and MissingName's was short, it actually respected the time limit. Only reason it took so look was due to bugs and stuff.

If you want an example of a good crappy game, look at the first one, Warxe's game. Games don't need to follow this exact formula, but they should take some notes about it.

There's "crappy" as in just crappy with no redeeming qualities, technically being crappy down to the definition.

Then there's "crappy" as in ridiculous, stupid, funny, outrageous, etc. That's what I wanna see.

The recent replies above somehow remind me of those days when games like Ketchup, Final Fantasy 7, Gulpy Gulpy, and many others were just that good to be crappy.

I wish those days would return...
Minus Gulpy Gulpy of course.

Indeed, the "golden standard" of crappy games in my opinion.  We need another masterpiece.

This was a busy week, but the good news is that I have a couple of days off coming up (Wednesday/Thursday) and that's usually when I feel the most inclined to do these. :)

If you're waiting patiently for your review to be done, please review the information below as, in the absence of deadlines, I've implemented a new system...that I should have thought of sooner, really.

**Please read the following information**

I've been doing some thinking, and I've come up with a more organized way to do these. Rather than outright eliminating deadlines and anything that might give you a clue as to when the next game review will be coming out, I'll be keeping a queue of all the games that are submitted to me that all of you can look at to see which are the next games to be done. That way, no one feels cheated out if it takes me a month to get around to your game. If there is some reason why I will not review your game, I will let you know, so don't be discouraged if you don't receive a PM back from me right away. I sometimes forget; I swear I don't mean it as any type of hidden message. >.>

Also, when you submit a game, please indicate the game's approximate length to me. So far, all of the people who have submitted me long games have warned me ahead of time, but this needs to be stated for the records as I'm going to be conducting my reviews differently depending on the length of the game you're submitting to me. Here's the plan:

[CGR] - If you submit a short game to me, I'm going to do it in a similar manner to the reviews I've already produced. It will be a simple let's play ordeal with over-the-top crappy voice acting and stupid jokes and comments littered throughout, just like the grand ol' CGR tradition. Regular crappy game reviews should be no longer than 30-45 minutes in length, so please give me a heads up if your game might take more time than this.

[CGR - Extended] - If you submit a longer game to me, I WILL play through and complete the game but will most likely take more time during the process. I may or may not complete it in one sitting. It depends on my free time available. I will slow down with these reviews, try to inspect every element of the game regardless of the time required to do so, and carefully edit these in the event that any part becomes too long or drawn-out. In addition, I'm going to be releasing an Abridged Version as a separate video for those who might want to see an overview of the game without sitting through the whole thing, and I'll include a Comprehensive Review of the crappy game including what I thought worked well and what didn't. What makes these reviews more complex is that at some point, these games often transcend the crappy game category and become a regular game with random humor.

[Game/Demo] - Then there are serious games and demos. I plan to make a different topic out of this once I start doing them. Currently, the only one I have lined up is my LP of Meiscool's demo. These will be included in the queue however to give a better representation of the overall release schedule.

Here's the lineup. I will be updating the front page later.

1. (Captain Obvious) Shouzen vs. the Retards 2, TAKE TWO [Extended]
2. (PROGUY) Pokemon Black and White [Extended]
3. (Drenrin) RTP Adventure II [CGR]
4. (Meiscool) Infinite Unreality [Game/Demo]
5. (Greenraven) 5 Minutes [CGR]

Secondary Queue (Games that do not take priority as I'm trying to cycle through submitters to provide some variety, but they will be done.)
1. (Greenraven) Graveyard Rumble II [Extended]
2. (Greenraven) 5 Minutes Deux [CGR - Will probably be done as an extra as it only lasts 5 minutes]

I hope this makes things a bit better for you guys. My OCD compels me to have some kind of order whenever I attempt something like this. If I forgot your game, please let me know. Any other questions/comments/suggestions? Post 'em below.

Since I've already had my game reviewed I have no objection to being put at the back of the queue (even though technically "first come first serve"). ::)

Seriously though, I'm fine.
