Christmas time!
« on: December 13, 2012, 07:33:06 PM »
So it's like 11 days left to Christmas (but the university does not fail to keep me occupied), or like 8 days to the rapture (depending on where you put your money.
I'm going north (yes there are colder places to visit) and getting the skiing equipment ready, gonna be some sweet days of hot coco and soar legs.

What are you doing for Christmas and what do you expect to receive in shiny gifts?

I'm pretty sure if your legs are flying, you're skiing wrong :V

I don't really have any plans, other than "hang out with family".

ed: I am getting a tattoo, however, so there's that.

It's the end of the Mayan Long Cycle, and they just throw a big party and start a new cycle.
Really, it's nothing special.

ed: Long Count?
I can't remember the proper name, whatever.
Point is, it's the end of the Mayan calendar, and they just started a new one, basically.
That's it.

Didn't they recently find a missing piece of the calendar that they're basing this whole apocalypse thing off of?

Sore, they get sore. They don't soar. Although I'm pretty sure that these two words are homophones.

And yes, no. Some people like to think that the world will end. So they haven't bothered buying christmas presents, I feel sorry for them when christmas comes and they find themselves in deep ****.

I think I'm actually at the point in life where I prefer giving gifts to receiving them.
All I really want this Christmas is one shirt and well not much else. All I'm getting is money, probably.

I'm considering getting Weregnome and his fiance a 2ft tall plush emperor penguin, because reasons

I actually prefer getting money, despite the fact that it's kind of a faux pas for...whatever reason.
I don't get people sometimes.

They are, so humor.

I am also a giving person, but I'll be damned if I don't want things as well. I find that I put myself in the poor house just making sure that everyone has something cool. I don't know when to stop buying...

If you happen to find a link to that, please share.  I haven't heard too many people going crazy about the 21st.  It's like people are just ignoring it and don't care.

I don't want much for christmas either.  Maybe to become close with my one friend again.  Her and I have split apart but I guess it's whatever haha.

Christmas for my family will basically just be another Thanksgiving. We don't really do the gift-giving anymore unless my youngest cousins come over, and they aren't this year.

Yeah I'm also a giving person. I blame video games, they want you to buy tons of gifts to give to people to raise their affection for you. And you need tons of them or really expensive ones or it's gonna take ages.

But I kinda want gifts as well, I don't get everything I want. So when christmas or birthdays show up, there's always something to wish for.
I mean seriously, I still haven't gone around of getting super mario galaxy even though everyone says it's a great game.

Yeah, money's always nice. No surprise effect, sure, but no risk of getting something you don't like.
However, ever since I started to work, I don't really care for Christmas gifts anymore. I mean... if I want something, I'll just go buy it. Besides, my family's not really wealthy.
As for handing out gifts... well... I need to work on that eventually. I'm part of this presents game thing we're doing, but aside from that, nothing. For now, they'll buy their own stuff and I'll buy my own.

I'm sort of trying to forget about the holidays this year, myself -- would rather be doing coursework than flopping around alone while everyone sticks garland on stuff.

But when it comes to gifts, I've found I'm the same way. I'm more excited about giving people things than I am getting stuff myself. There's. . . nothing I especially want anymore.
