Overworld Themes

So I can't come up with an overworld theme to save my life sooooooooo i guess it'd be some help if you shared some of your favorites to give me some inspiration lol

Well it  is basically a question of what kind of feeling you want to convey here. A lot of games simply grab the main theme/title theme and turn it into a neverending looping melody. Or you could make it more like ocarina of time where it is more adventurous and kinda reminiscent of horses running.

all righty.  i gues i want it to feel like the heroes are determined, but at the same time suffering and pain are all around them and stuff.

If I wanted to go retro and sound super cool I'd say the Dragon Warrior overworld theme, now I think about it.  I absolutely loved that, despite it's super-simplicity.

Ignore the fact that the video's massively long. The first minute will easily suffice.

Pretty much any beat can be turned into an overworld theme. You can make two, one that is adventurous, and a second that is more suffering focused after something HUGE happens.

Overworld themes have always been my favorite to compose. I personally love ff6s overworld theme.

i love goldensun 1's overworld theme.  it put you u in the adventure mood.  Also i loved chrono cross's themes for both dimensions.  I'll think of something though...
