Apparently, Cherry (this guy) is working directly with the companies involved in this project. A full changelog can be found here. Cherry is the guy who made DynRPG, hyper patcher, RM2009, and much more. So maybe mods and plugins will actually be a legal thing in the future.

Also, we should consider a possible influx of rm2k3 users to the forums in the coming months. If only to use the database. We might want to try and actually, you know, fix a few things around here or update the forums. I know that's a stick in the works, a wrench in the gears, a thorn in everyone's collective arses, but yeah. I said it.

Bought it, but mostly for the support since I've been using this great maker for a while. I should get some money to Don Miguel as well though. It's thanks to that one Spanish pirate that I have been able to work with the program at all these last 12 years.

Well, when you open an old project appears the next:

https://db.tt/M0o5AXYl

No tricks there, just import the RTP files you were using and you're green!   :]]

So happy this finally happened.. I would suggest to try to fix a few things here and there as I'm sure this site will get linked more with this (at least I'm planning to do so). Well, that would be~

I'd bite for RTP dlc. IMO RTP style is so hard to mimic (other than charsets)

Tis why we value Purps so much, no?

getting money on thursday, consider it bought :o

Well I don't know if you'll get it as cheap as I did. It said like for that week only I think. Hence why I went  through heck to get it. T_T Stupid Steam's password protection is NUTS!

Awwwwwesome! Wonder if it  still can convert RM 2000 files? Also I hadn't thought about that!! With 2003 back to at least back to being well used and known we, who are well known mostly for having the  biggest  collection of2003 resources, will be back in the spot light again. ^O^ Buuut we need work on promoting the site better and get some associate who aren't relics or lost.

Insta-bought it when I heard about it and saw it. It's the least I can do for having been able to enjoy RM2K3 all these years; was totally worth waiting 12 years for this day.

Heres hoping RM2K is also close behind in the pipeline. <3

Also, holy I did not know I registered an account here back in god damn 2006.

Just checked to see if a project saved by the new rm2k3 will work with rm2k9 application - it does.  Still need to test if the dynrpg  stuff works.  I'll let you know.

EDIT: Because Dynrpg only works with version 1.08, it will ask you if you want to replace the current rpg_rt file with a new 1.08 version.  If you do this, though, the game will crash on launch if you open the .exe itself or with the 1.10 rm2k3.  It will work if you open it in the playtest for rm2k9 though.

tl;dr dynrpg isn't yet compatible.

Cherry is not sure whether or not patching breaks any agreement clauses at the moment.  If you were using rm2k9 to work on your project, I suggest continuing to do so since the new rm doesn't support subfolders making it impossible to access some of your graphics.  None of the graphics will break though, as it seems to still be able to find them easily enough if you don't mess with it.

There is still hope! Quote from cherry on rmn in the Official English rm2k3 thread:

"Also, I talked with Degica about the patching/modding issue, and there will be modifications to the EULA, and a special "patch EULA" will be created soon. I can't go into details yet, but I think you are going to like it."

Good. It really needs to be modifiable to stand a chance as a game maker IMO

EDIT: Does the steam version have any issue with lag? Like, too many pictures and such causing severe lag on some PCs.

I didn't try it while working on the chain game just in case anything would blow up. I can have a go at it now though.
