Howdy. Pardon the Captchas, they'll go away after your first 5 posts.

XD That is basically our most primary of functions. Alas we used to be a bustling forum of RPs and inside jokes but these days those are a few and far between. Either way welcome to the forum and thanks for making me think one of gals had returned only to SHATTER MY DREAMS! XO

Have a pleasent day! ^_^

I should say i first known RPG Maker 2003 when i was only playing games with the pirated version, but i'm glad my dad got me my own credit card and now i finally got to buy the updated version! Are there any tutorials, starting resources, etc. i should use for beginning 2k3?

I guess for a start you should just try the default resources, then when you're feeling comfortable with them you can try other things. I don't know if there are any "good" tutorials for mapping, I suggest you just look at what old SNES JRPG used to be like so you have an idea. Then just practice. There is a topic for sharing screenshots, we could give you advices in there should you want to post any maps.
As for programming, I highly suggest you just start with the default (no patches or anything). Most importantly, you should get used to how variables and switches are used, conditional branches, labels, and parallel processes, which are the very basics for anything more complex. There's a good lot of good tutorials about them on rpgmaker.net forums, but then again, practice and experimenting are your best friends =)

Good call. We're primarily a resource site, and even though we have a few tutorials and other useful things, rpgmaker.net has a broader selection.

Yeah they are a bit more fancy, and most members who made tutorials here also posted them on rpgm net as well.

But if you have any questions just throw them out here and we'll help as much as we can
