[Solved] [RM2k3] - Lost monsters from RTP?
« on: August 17, 2017, 11:22:15 PM »
The request:
I was wondering if there were any lost monster sprites anywhere around the internet that somehow didn't get in the original RTP but was supposed to be the part of it? I mean like in the 2k version there were other monster sprites that could be later found in an RTP addon. For example like these:.
I was looking up the whole internet and found an interesting thing on the japanese Enterbrain site... at least I think it was the japanese Enterbrain site. Here is a screenshot:

I don't know what the text says but the image is a really interesting thing... maybe it's the only extra monster in the whole RTP but I need to know if there are any more of them lurking around. It would be a great thing to have them. Thanks in advance.

(BTW, doesn't this giant armor look very final fantasish? :D )

EDIT:
I just found a picture with very bad quality and it's very small but still the graphics are recognisable I think. I don't know if the monsters are edited or not but they also resemble the RTP style.

The solution:
GOT THEM, YAY! :D
For my surprise Mikkoku (made by Chiyu) had these monsters:

Pegasus, Asura 2, Bear, Evil Mummy Carrot, Beer Mug, Ant, Moth, Ramblin' Evil Mushroom, Iron Golem
Some of these are pretty weird but can be still useful. Thanks to Chiyu my worries are gone. :D
(Now that I mentioned Mikkoku I suggest it for everyone to try it out. It gives a whole new experience.)
And also thank you Prpl_Mage and Fisherson for the replies. :)

It's an interesting idea but not sure, feels like it should have turned up by now if there was. I mean, 14 years.

Armor looks like it would match the black red knight from the monster charset with the girdle, shoulder pads and shoes but the colours are off.

Or others weren't missing these lost sprites so much. :D

I had the exact same idea about the armor. I didn't know first what I could do with it then I realized: the dark knight!
Here it is:

You meant like that, right? :) It is a great enemy in my opinion.

Anyways, I still hope that somewhere these lost monsters would turn up even if it takes another 14 years. :D

Well those first two are from a game called 'Final Fallacy' I think a RM 2,000 game that was quite amusing and well known for a long time but these days you are lucky to get a working copy. That bluish white super knight...I found that sprite somewhere but I can't remember. Wasn't it VIP? Either way that little Japanese site has ALLOT of resources. Actually almost more than our resources but all in Japanese and a fun fact: RPG Maker 2003 will not important a set with Japanese characters in it! XD Ironic huh? You can always change them to english like I do though. Got allot of stuff to make Juno's Odyssey from there including my favorite re-used moonbase tile set.

Edit: Whoa nice re-color! o.O It's not even noticable the edit you did. Smooth, flawless and didn't warp the style or leave a fingerprint. Impressive, new guy!

Yeah, there are lot of resources, but not what I'm looking for unfortunately... at least I found this huge knight. :D
Also thanks for your appreciation, but I think it wasn't such a great thing to do. Anyone could recolor a sprite or do a small cut-and-paste edit from multiple sprites it just needs patience... and a good gfx editor program. :)

EDIT:
I just found a picture with very bad quality and it's very small but still the graphics are recognisable I think. I don't know if the monsters are edited or not but they also resemble the RTP style.

Gonna put this in the first post as well.

Nice snag! However that 'mummy' is a Mandragora, evil demon plant. Asura mode 2 looks badaz though o.O Kinda wish I had a project to use that in. Oh well. That bear woulda be nice back when "Dentverse: Origins" was Warped as well lol.  Live and learn~

Londoners are paying to live in deserted schools, office blocks and an old cathe

Opposite a bed in central London, light filters through a stained-glass window depicting, in fragments of copper and blue, Jesus Christ.

Three people have lived in the deserted cathedral in the past two years, with each occupant — an electrician, a sound engineer and a journalist — paying a monthly fee to live in the priest’s quarters.

The cathedral is managed by Live-in Guardians, a company finding occupants for disused properties, including schools, libraries and pubs, across Britain. The residents — so-called property guardians — pay a fixed monthly “license fee,” which is usually much lower than the typical rent in the same area.

Applications to become guardians are going “through the roof,” with more people in their late thirties and forties signing on than in the past, said Arthur Duke, the founder and managing director of Live-in Guardians.

“That’s been brought about by the cost-of-living crisis,” he said. “People are looking for cheaper ways to live.”
