I have come up with a way to save a little more bandwidth.

In some other forums that I've been to, when you select your avatar, you can either upload one from your computer or link to it. In Charas, you can only upload an avatar from your computer. I think it would save a little bandwidth if you can link to the avatar you want, also.

dudes, i think this is a good idea.. i mean.. charas making a game.. and since we have loads of people, with loads of talent!

there's still loads of people i can mention, i know you have something in you, i just don't know what they are.. and, that's a crew up there if ya ask me. but, due to schooling, this might/should take a while

and there's also a lot of empty spots that could be filled in.. like Battle Animations and all that :D graphic making, i mean.

release a 2 hour demo, see how many people like it, burn the game in a CD and sell them online and if the game becomes a hit, we can like.. make it into a series!

well, that's just what i have in mind right now :D

About making a game. More... a COMMERCIAL game!
Well, this should be interesting (as the Charas Movie now in progress), but i don't think we can sell games made with rm2k(2 or 3).
Anyhow, i'm not sure of this, i should look for the licence somewhere.
But this can be a way, that's true!
What i suggest is to wait the work in progress of the Charas Movie: that will be great to understand how well we can really work together in a game project.

Anyone who want to say his opinion is welcome!

any games we make with rm2k(3) can NOT be sold, and I making a profesional game would take a lot of work and time, but I'd help out where I can, wich is not in so many places I'm afraid, all I can do is art (abstract mostly :s)

Well, I'm writing a song, so if anyone's willing to help singing along (I'm doing the first verse and the chorus, but the bridge and the second verse must be done by someone else, I'll post the song some day).

Anyways, I also need help with the bridge before the ending of the song. The song isn't written for a girl, unlike my previous songs, but this song was written to sing with my bestestest friends, the Charas members.

Yes, to be possible, it is. But not so fast to implement.
Anyhow, avatars are nt a big problem: there is more BW usage lookin 10 page of the facegen than 1 month of forum avatars ;)

So, just to sum up:

What IS NOT a problem are Forum avatars and messages (text is nothing terrible, and the avatars are not so heavy).

The generators (well, it's impossible to reduce them more! but that png are luckily REALLY small) and complete resources are untouchable, or this site will have no reason to exist ;)

On the other side, heavy attachments in the Forum can be reduced. Simply place a link instead of the file, if it will be larger downloaded and particulary heavy

just curious, has anybody actually donated money to this site online?

Its pretty damn easy. Paypal does NOT require a credit card, you just need to have a bank account. And unless you are under 16 or never worked in your life, you probably have one. And it has instructions on the site, to get your bank account registered. Then you deposit like, 1$, to your bank, then paypal $1 to the site. Very easy. If you can't find a dollar in your couch cushions, I doubt you even have a couch, which means its a real shocker that you are able to have internet.

Whenever i'll receive something, i'll create a "donations thanx area" on Charas first page for sure.
But something is going in the wrong way... how may i collect more that 100$ per month, this way?

Hope something will happen soon, because the deadline is around December 2003... After that date, Charas HAS to be supported by itself or in some other way... or it will be hard to keep it alive, for me.....
