Advo's not translating it (at least not to my knowledge), but a guy I know from Likwid is (The creator of the site, Likwid Sage). I believe it's almost done, but I can't post links to it because it's illegal.

No, that's RPG Maker 2 (RPG Maker 5 is the Japanese name). I remember Smokey posting screens of RPG Maker 3D a while ago...

RPG Maker 2 is kinda old...I got it last Christmas(English), but I like the PC RPG Makers better...just because of the mouse =P
Takes quuuuite a while to get things done on that...

I bought it opening week. It was too hard to go back and forth and it has too many limitations. PLus the battle sucks. If you wanna make a dragon warrior wannabee game, then this would work well for you. If you want to make an RPG thats ff style...no way.

And i guess a game done with it would be too heavy and hard to distribute...but it is a horizon opening thing huh.

EDIT: I think they should do the same microsoft did with dungeon siege, a totaly changeable game, u just got to stick with the game's engine...Thinkg about it now, it is REALLY similar to RPGM, only not SOOOO full of choices and possibilities...

Wait. You guys are confusing the PS2 RPG Maker (RPG Maker 2 or RPG Maker 3D) with 3D RPG Editor. It's not made by Enterbrain, I think the company is HitPoints or something.

But yeah, it's 3D RPG Editor for the PC. And that's the one LikwidSage is translating.

ah. that makes sense. I dunno about 3d rpg makers though, they haven't been what I wanted. I want something about the equivilant of XenoGears or WildArms2 (which had that cool swivel camera and 3d maps, but maintained the tradtional looking sprite)

Yeah, and that's why they made a 3D RPG maker. The game making community play a lot of those games, and learn what makes them good and bad. Wouldn't that make us better developers, as we know what's good and bad in a 3D RPG?

But I agree with you on one point: a lot of people are going to rip off FF7 or something with 3DRPGe, and I'm not looking forward to that. But for every fangame, there's bound to be an original 3D RPG made.

I have rpg maker 3-D (don't ask for it...it's not in english)

I like it alot. I would use it instead of XP, but it's in Japanese. Also note that the people who made RPG maker 3-D didn't make The RPG makers we all know. The real name is RPG 3-D Editor, or something like that.
