I'll break it to you now. If you don't know from my track record, I rarely ever finish ANYTHING. So if there's another issue I can almost guarentee it won't be by me, although I might be involved.

As a tip for those wanting to make their own issue, don't discuss much over the forums. Part of my scheme was keeping this quiet from everybody, including those who were featured.

Just as a point of clarrification, RRWP was never banned. He left under his own free will. Oh, and yes, that smiley contest thing is real. I will post a thread about it... eventually.

Update: If anyone ever actually get's far on their attempt to make a second issue, I'm going to be toying around with a design that sucks up less bandwidth.

http://osmose.bizhat.com/newhtml/ is the new design. Uses an Iframe and only one header image to get the job done, along with html articles to improve load time.

I really appreciate the gesture, but I'd like to stick with mine. Only one Image, and the look is almost exactly like it was before, with less bandwidth and work overall. Thanks though.

Nice.

I suggest different people do this, if they are willing and bi-weekly.
Maybe someone can set up a team XD Osmose and GC seem appropiate :P.

Whoa, impressive!
Very nice work!

I agree with the idea of recreating the mag team.
I strongly think that seeing something "for real" insted of just words surely will help in finding ppls to help on this.
This thread itself is a proof of this, and everyone now should sense the feeling that "this can be done".

I only have 2 things to say.

The first one is a question: this was the first complete test. If in the future the Mag team will revive, may we have a copy of this as an official release or you prefer to keep it for you as a test outside Charas?

The second one is a tech thing.
Your new test is based on iframes, but they're not exactly standard.
You can see more about this here:
http://www.allmyfaqs.com/faq.pl?Problems_with_using_frames
I'd suggest to use some different solution.
The simplest one would be to use PHP or ServerSideIncludes, if you can use them on your host.
Anyhow, it's your choice.

Congrats again for the great job!

Dont you think Bi-weekly may be a little too soon per issue? Monthly perhaps.

Meh.. Yeah Iframes.. I guess Osmose could always code with PHP includes. Same difference, and you only have one main frame.

Yeah, I know about the whole Iframe compatibility thing, but I was assuming that anyone who couldn't use Iframes wasn't worthy of my work :P

IFrames are really our only choice for the time being. The navigation is Javascript based, and I'm not even sure if it works fully with the Iframes (I switched it out from the PNG switching hoping name and src were both common attributes to the two >_<)

I'll think of something. SSI's are interesting, if unimaginative and terribly static. And bizhat hates it's users and requires you have a certain amount of posts on their forums to enable PHP, along with a description of the script being used.

As for the official release, if it gives me better hosting than bizhat (which it will, no doubt about that) it's all yours.

I'm going to say this now, though, that any and all article talk will either be in some form of protected forum (on another site, unless Alex works something out[and, if he does, I also suggest you put community contest as protected]) or through MSN/AIM. The best part of the magazine is the factor of total surprise, and I don't want to ruin it for anyone.

Unfortunatly, to create proptected areas in this forum is hard.
The private thing is something special, at this stage i can allow view to some categories, but there's no "user group" functions.

Anyhow, i was thinking at the forum not to reveal what we'll see, but to comment magazines, obtain suggesttions, organize eventual meetings and, more important, to permit new ppls to post their "curricula" if they will to join/help.
