Using voice acting is a very, very bad idea. Bad voice acting has ruined the best of professional games ( see Star Ocean 2 for a good example ). And the quality of voice acting you're going to get for a 16-bit game ( where voice acting is going to be out of place to begin with ) ... it's just a very, very bad idea.

I'm playing Star Ocean: the second story right now, I think the voice acting is really cool in that game. It really adds a lot of character to the game, if they would have had voice acting for their conversations though I think it would have turned out bad.

You know, everyone says voices in an RPGmaker game is so bad, but is it really all
that
bad? I know, it will make the game probably huge and somtimes they don't always sound good, but I've heard a couple samples from what he was doing before and it could turn out really good. And how many RPGmaker games actually do have voice acting in them, it'll be somthing sort of new.

I'll still give it a try.
If you guys didn't like it when you've played the demo, I will take it away.

I was thinking of offering a version with voice acting in and a version without voice acting in Elysium Revelation. Perhaps you could do that. I know it's a bit of extra leg work but it would give the people the option of VA and would mean people on 56k connections (I feel for you) would be able to enjoy the game as well.
Just a minor suggestion.

Actually that is a very good suggestion, Elysium.
I'll go for that.

Ive been reading the thread and ive come to this conclusion:
Why don't you add voices for only the important conversations?
eg: a crucial point in the story, before the final boss, the ending catch my drift?

On the screenshot, you can see three of the prophets getting attacked by undead zombies. That's a part of the intro actually.
And yes, Leon.
That is kind of what I decided.
I'll post some character bios soon.
