Hmm, I don't mind fan games as long as there're well made. I say people should use RPG Maker for fun, and if they find expanding one of their favorite games by making a sequal to it, then so be it. And heck, some are actually pretty enjoyable, so I don't really have a problem with peeps making fan games.

Hmm, what was your game called?

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

I don't mind fangames...just as long as they're good. If they're not good, then they make a bad name for the real game. So, fangames are ok, I guess. Originality is better though. Original games are definately better than fangames in my book. Once again though, as long as they're good. :p

Fangames usually don't bother because the creator's usually say something like, "OMG, I'm gonna make Final Fantsy XXVII!!!!11!! It's gonna be teh best!" Then, they're never heard from again. Quite funny.

As for fan games that actually are finished, I can't say much. I've honsetly never played a fangame unless Jump! (DDR Clone) is considered a fangame. But, I think I could enjoy a well made fan game as much as I could enjoy a well made original game.

I don't often play games. Therefor I don't play many fan games. So, I don't care what kind of game you make. Just as long as you enjoy making them. I think a lot of people dislike them because their expectations are very high because of the originial.

Final Fantasy: Time And Time Again is a potential ff fan game. Looks very nice. Legion Saga is decent.

So true :)

Yeah. I don't care for fangames, unless they have a good reason to be making them. If it's just a stupid FF7 remake, I wouldn't bother. But if it was a good FF7 addon, then I would play it... if I ever played RPG Maker games in general.

You know, I've never seen a Mario fangame... Why is that?

You're suppost to say why you don't like them ;)

I dunno, I've seen a few people saying they were going to make them. I don't know if they ever did, though.

I don't mind fangames, unless they're too cliche, I like sequels (most of the time).

I don't mind fangames, usually. I just don't like the "Final Fantasy" fangames that have nothing to do with Final Fantasy at all, except for maybe a couple of chocobos or moogles that were thrown in.

I see so we can all agree that m0st (not all) Final Fantasy Fan games suck? The reason why I can think why most of the FFFGs (Just made that up spread it across the internet lol )  never finish is b/c...it's hard to end a game like those...

Mostly because whenever someone gets RPG Maker, what do they think:

"Hmm...what to write a game about, well, it'd be cool if I created a sequel to final fantasy 7, or if I created my own final fantasy."

That's usually the case.

Now here's a nice question. what do you consider a Fan game? and what are some different types? I know of one type, parody fan games. they are good for me..
