Touching Moments/Thrilling Moments
« on: February 28, 2005, 11:41:11 PM »
Okay.  So here we will list moments in video games that almost if not DID make us cry.  Now, we all weep for the brave little metroid who gave his life to save Samus, so you can leave him out, unless you want to add an extra tribute to him.

Also, thrilling moments we can list.  Moments that almost made you choke.  BIG SPOILERS ON THIS ONE.

So, of course, I remove my hat for the metroid... but, there is another.  I am Hardcore.  I love my video game characters.  They're almost my children, except for the old ones.  They're my brothers.  Me and video games grew together.  I beat Super Mario Bros. when I was TWO YEARS OLD.

But now, touching moments.  The most recent and easiest to remember is  Starfox Assault .  If you didn't beat it yet, or didn't get it yet, don't read the rest of this paragraph.  I SAID SPOILERS!  So be warned...  One of the most touching moments of my game life was when Peppy crashed the Great Fox to save the rest of the team.   :(  WAAAAHHH!!  HOW COME THERE'S NO CRYING THING!  I HAVE TO SETTLE FOR THIS SAD FACE!  NOOOOO!!  Sure he wasn't dead, but... at the end he's all scarred up.

Now... thrilling moments.  One word.  GANON.  Whenever I see the guy (seriously) I almost choke on his thrilling, delicious EVIL.  I'm almost afraid of the guy.  Sometimes I shiver.  Also, when I saw the OoT GANON TRANSFORMATION I nearly died.  Ganon is a thrill.

Okay.  Even though my 2 were both from Nintendo, don't feel restricted.  You can go ahead and do Sony or Microsoft or whatever you're into.

FF7 was my first Final Fantasy, so I felt sad when Aeris died, I really liked Aeris's character in that game.

FFX, I played straight through in one day, and whew! was I touched at the end when Tidus disappeared. LoL. I was like, NOOOOO that was my best character!!!!!

KOTOR 2, didn't make me sad, it was just this to me "Oh!!! What's going to happen next?!!!!, That's was cool!! I didn't expect that!!!" That sorta thing.

I'm in the middle of playing Suikoden 3, and I have a feeling there's going to be a suprise for me. You know what, this has inspired me to go play it RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!

FF4 or FF2, it made me 2/10 sad, mostly because all of the character were dying, or near dead. LoL, it was still an awesome game, and I give it a 10/10.

I actually felt good at that part because she was freaking hard to beat.

Sad part, grave being visited at end of FFT.

Hmm... The first thing that comes to mind is at the end of Tales of  Phantasia, when the party realizes that Dhaos was actually trying to save his race by getting a Mana Seed, and then Martel created one out of their bodies and they went into space... I wasn't really sad, but I was angry. I remember thinking "Cless, you idiot! Why didn't you think about Dhaos' intentions for a second?!"

Another that comes to mind is in Tales of Symphonia when Botta and his troops killed themselves to save the party. I remember thinking "Aww, now I don't get to fight with him..." But it was pretty sad too.

One more that comes to mind was in FF6, when Kefka killed General Leo *coolest bad-good guy in the history of gaming*. Looking at his grave in Thamasa almost made me cry :'(

When Crono died in Chrono Trigger. Well, I wasn't really said, but more like "What the hell?!" So I guess that fits with thrilled then?

Are you kidding?  I LMFAO at that.

I dont remember crying over a game, but I was "thrilled" (but mostly inspired) when Sephiroth killed Aeris. Hehehehe.

That part made me p!ssed. I wanted Kairi to die throughout the whole game, and she never did. Instead, she cried at the end like a fricken whimp.

not really a touching moment...or a part of the games storyline...but when i hack torsos off in shadow of rome...i guess u can say it inspires me......no real sad moments in any video games...

actually....castlevania l.o.i. ...when leon is forced to kill his wife. thrilling? when that vampire guy with the swords dies. killed me way too many times to be sad about it.

*Star Ocean 2 and Breath of Fire II spoilers*

I was pretty thrilled to see the entire planet of Expel crumble when it collided with Nede.

And yet Nede was unaffected.  :|  Weird.

As for touching, I haven't been very touched, but I guess if I had to pick, it would be in Breath of Fire Ii when Rand's mom dies. Rand was going to sacrifice himself to save the party from a trap in a dungeon, then his mom comes in to save him and she dies instead. It was pretty sad, even though she had that "You're a bad son!" type of attitude, even right before she died.

Aeris - simply because I put too much work into her, hardly got to use her limit (the first time round I didn't even get it) and then she's blaued. Also, originally I thought she died with all my stuff on her still, and that annoyed me.

Edit: Oh, and Jesse Biggs and Wedge. I liked Jesse :( (gimme a break, I was like 10 :P)

Yeah, the part of FF7 where the pillar collapses is damn sad. GTA San Andreas has two for me - watching Ryder's boat explode on the horizon was pretty damn satisfying, I kept failing the mission because he got away. Oh yeah, and treading on Pulaski's head after he killed me about 20 times.  :D
