*fumes* Ok, look...last time I'll say this. Next time, I'll just ask a mod or admin to lock this topic. Trev, I shall ask you in the nicest way possible..and look I'll even use a please and thank you.
Trev, could you please respect what others have to say and stop telling people to 'shutup' I mean, there is a way to disagree, but do it in a 'mature' manner. Thankyou.
Maxine, Razor was just trying to point out something that I have to agree with, so please don't argue with him. Thank you..that is all.. Mid~

Felt the urge to comment on this and actually return to the original topic.  I believe that parents A) are stupid when it comes to giving their children what they want B) Will force the blame of their child's actions on ANYTHING but themselves.

 Parents are always looking for excuses to push the blame off themselves when they've slacked off.  The mother in this didn't read the M rating or didn't care when she bought it and so upon finding porn in it she decides that she won't shoulder the responsibility of her own actions and will take it out on a multimillion dollar corporation instead?  Hmmm, I wonder why little Jimmy would act irresponsibile if Mommy dearest is the one setting the example.

 I'm speaking from the point of a parent (my kids are little though and I dread having experiences like this when they're older).  It's the MOTHERS fault, and she needs to buck up and take responsibility for her actions, as all parents should.  Otherwise, what type of society can we expect to live in?

My parents are quite logical and have a good amount of common sense to boot.  However, upon telling them that they do not set a good example for themselves or me they interrogate me and request that I give ample proof of this.  I give around 12 example for each case I inteded to prove but they blow it all off because I'm a teen and I've never parented.  Perhaps, now I know it's crazy, but just perhaps I am the one who is, for once, correct?

Games= scapegoat.

Where do kids get language from? Their parents. When parent put their children to bed, they think they stay there. So they curse. The child really is awake and listening to every word they say.

Well yes, but they'd never admit that to you.

It's hard to admit when you make mistakes, but it's even harder to admit you've made mistakes in your behaviour/examples around your children.  There is alot of pressure in today's society for parents to be perfect, expecially with loony's cropping up all the time.  I had my son when I was only 18, and it's been hard to raise him without people looking down at me.  Just as people and pressure around you drive you to be the perfect (or imperfect) teenager they do it with parents.  So next time that happens, bow out gracefully and say to them that you're sorry you don't see eye to eye.  Show maturity and they should respond with it.  (Although I still have trouble getting my parents to admit that I'm an adult ) ;)

Has anyone noticed that the mother is definately going to lose this? GTA was a 17+ game. She should have never bought it in the first place, because either way, even if it was a 16+ game, the boy is 13 / 14 years old. He wasn't allowed to play it anyway.

Gary, have you noticed that with games they're easy here in Holland. I bought Resident Evil Code Veronica X alone a few years ago. It's a 16+ game and I was around 12. They allowed me. Also I bought Metal Gear Solid 3 a few months ago. It's a 16+ game I think. And they allowed. Though, with movies they're more difficult here.

Yes, true, BUT the mother had bought the game, and she could have seen the PG rating. Yes, in Holland they HAD a worse system, but I believe that now you'll need to identify yourself. Part of the law (if you're over 14), part of... well, the law.

But, in short, the mother made her own mistake by not reading the PG rating.

No, because his weapons all got destroyed along with the Terminator himself. As seen in the last two Terminator movies.
