« on: August 04, 2005, 11:52:53 PM »
Hello. I have returned from my vacations on New York. Well, that's not important.(Well, it was for me, but that's not what this post is about). All I want to know if anyone knows an RPG game for XBOX. I really need to know if there is a good one. I may have enough money to buy one. Can any one suggesy one?

metal dungeon is a pretty cool game. its an rpg set in the future. i wont go into any details of the story, but i thought it was a good game. another good game you could try is nightcaster. it dosent have a battle system, but its also a good game.

Fable and Morrowind are both pretty decent. But there's not a lot of RPGs on XBox, so if you want RPGs, you're better off getting a PS2.

Metal Dungeon wasnt all that good... I expected a lot more out of it. The battles are very bland, there's no character development (well, because you make them yourself), and on top of that the dungeons are dull. I did get a little enjoyment out of it. Upgrading was cool and the variety of choices were nice, but there just wasn't anything to it, really. No depth. I played Nightcaster. I really didnt like that too much either. Way too hard for one thing, and switching spells all the time is annoying. I think Jade Empire and Fable are good, though.  Try those.

Or a Gamecube. It has plenty of RPGs and good games and is underrated if you ask me. Right off the bat for rpgs, there's Tales of Symphonia, Paper Mario, Skies of Arcadia, and Baten Kaitos. Plus, gamecube costs less than PS2.

I'm not buying a GC or a PS2! I'm happy with the XBOX. By the way, is it true that if a GC game gets a little scratch, you lose your really expensive game? My brother says so.

Thanks for the of the games. I know that XBOX have little number of RPGs. That's why I made this thread. Is there any Final Fantasy game for XBOX? I think not. Thanks for the info, if there are more games, post them, please.

If you get a PS2, I can list many good RPG's.  But your not, so we'll stick with XBOX.

I forgot Baldur's gate! I never really thought of it as an rpg, but it really is - more like an action rpg. But it's awesome! Dark Alliance 1 can be a bit limited but Dark Alliance 2 expanded a lot on the formula. The only thing that's missing is co-op for more than two players.

That list on the website isn't entirely accurate. True Fantasy Online was cancelled, which totally sucked. I got rid of xbox live a month or so ago because I hardly ever used it, but it would've been so worth it if that game came out...

Knights Of The Old Republic. Good game.
Baldurs Gate.  The one for the PC was great, maybe Dark Alliance for the Xbox is too.
X-Men Legends, seen it on a game program. Looked ok.

meh....xbox + rpgs =99% of them suck -_-

PS2 and GC are the best for rpgs, FF on PS2 AND star ocean 3 (Immense game!!!!) and a few more (Shadow hearts is quite kl too :P)
and GC (my personal fave) has ToS,BK,Zelda!,PM, SOA and many more :P

If you want anything, get PS2 instead of game cube, there are at least 150 new ps2 games comeing out in fall, and a lot of them are RPGs, plus the GC is unattractive, and the discs are very flimsy.

As for xBox, aside from being bulky, it dose have a good veraity of raceing and sports games. I have played Fable and i highly reccomend it.

Synopsis:

If you're a big fan of the american RPG genre (Games based off of DND, or just plain made in a country other than japan) Then the XBOX is for you. Actually, the PC is. Almost every XBOX game has a good PC alternative.

Morrowind
XBOX = Cruddy control, low resolution
PC = Adjustable control and resolution, not to mention awesome mods (I'm looking in MACHALL's direction.)

Fable I've never played, though I'm assuming the PC version has mods.

Not to mention a very bulky controller and system, This is the only modern system I don't have.

If you're a fan of them anime inspired RPG's, then by all means take a gamecube. Compact would be the best word to describe the GC. The system itself isn't even a full cubic foot in size (it's more like 5.5 cubic inches) and the discs are compact as well. The controller is a bit different, but who cares? The titles are good. Tales of Symphonia, Legend of Mana, *insert synonym to story* of *insert synonym to magic*, and, of course, Paper Mario. That game is sweet.

I still think that you should really go with a PS2. It's game selection is WAY more diverse. It pretty much has everything that the GC and XBOX offered, not to mention that it has a fare share of it's own awesome titles, including, but not limited to Disgaea, Phantom Brave, FFX, FFX2 (ugh), Dark alliance, Dark alliance 2, Dark cloud, and Dark cloud 2....

That's a lot of sequels.

Anyway, get a PS2.
