Right, how rude, I haven't commented on your 60 some yearold guy yet.

Well..... the old guy with really tough fists has been played out alot in games. (Legia just to name one off the top of my mind).

In my opinion I think you have enough characters already. You have like 6 or seven right now, and your game is only 1.5 hours per chapter Xs 3 so that's 4.5 hours of gameplay.... and then seven characters in that 4.5 hours.

Let me tell you my opinion. If anyone played the original ff2 from japan, they will know what I mean. That's only supposed to be a 12 hour game with four main guys, but you don't even get one main guy till the very end. You start out with three guys, and the forth person just keeps changing every hour, and it sucks because you equipt em all nice and lvl them up some and theyjust end up leaving you.

So unless you do something drastically cool like ff6's airship where you chould chose between your 15 guys to form a party, and then have the last area use three parties of people so that all characters get used alot, I would recomend not making a whole lot of characters.

hehe.  No no no.  You got it all wrong.  the new DEMO will have 3 chapters.  the game itself will have around 20.  ^^'  He is the last addition though.  7 characters.  Lol.  With 20+ chapters, plenty of time for each character and then some.  :D

Oh, I see. Then you could most likely safly add one character every chapter at that, and it would be cool if you did alot of multi party missions. Like, for example, a memory ID where if you press 0 it goes from party to party and they each have to step on switchs and stuff to open doors for the other party to progress.

I had something like that in mind, but alas, I dont know how to make it so if you press a key, then it does something like that.  :(

But....I have a system in the game called OTOS.  I'll explain it later, but it can help me with what you suggested.  It will be more complicated though.

If anyone remembers when Vyse/Gilder got separated from Aika/Fina and the whole level is dependant on each party of 2 solving a part of the puzzle and then hitting a little icon on the map to change instead of at will.

Oh? You don't know how to do the key processing?

It's input keys, and you can make it to where you store a varible and if that varible ever equals the key you pressed (example, 10=0 key) then it does whatever you set up in the common events as a paralle process.

You know how to make a CMS right? It's kind like that, only it teleports you to the second party instead of the menu.

You can dl it, you just have to copy it to a pc. I have a thumbdrive for that type of reasons so that I won't use 20,000,000 cd's like I was.

When I buy a new one, OR when we get the old one fixed... and I guess that'll take a while either way... I guess you could send the game via MSN though, cuz this Mac doesn't accept downloads via links. don't ask me why
(I hate moving to a new house... if you do you loose money that you can use for fun stuff)

Update
« Reply #103 on: September 15, 2005, 04:12:05 AM »
Well, with school here, progress has been slow.  But, it's still going good.  Chapter 1 is just about in the books.  Which means that chapter 2 will begin shortly.  But it will go even faster because I already made most of the maps I need for it before hand.
I got the last 2 members of the Arakian Six made, and they'll be on the site tommorow.  Hope you guys are still checkin it, because it's getting updted regularly.
Another thing is that I took the liberty of adding to every characters bio.  This is good because it will add more diversity to each Hero.  Now, none of their pasts are the same/cliche as other games.  They'll be unigue in their own way.
Anyways, what I'm doing now is re-eventing Temeri.  I'm making the citizens more interactive, and I might also add a Mini-game.  There's also the OTOS sytem too.  (Refrence at my site.  Will be up tommorow)

I'll try and get a screen or two up tomorrow if I can.  anyways, thanks for reading guys.  Carpe Diem is still going strong!  :D :D ;)

An interesting update. We all know that Charas want screenshots but I'll say something else than that.

First, add the last members of the Arakian Six on your website. I guess things will go slower because of school but so long that your game comes out eventually, I got no complaints.

Alkamar is still awesome, with reason. Characters' personality are what makes or kill a game...so your game will...or atleast should...be good. Apart from that, re-eventing Temeri is a nice idea...the peasants were very zombie-like the first time.

Looking forward to the next 'demo' *V.I.P*
