Gate of HöllencWelt
« on: September 10, 2005, 08:46:13 AM »
Hey, here's the the story line of my game. I will post character profiles later on, and screenshots even later on. The story line is still being thought over, so it will most likely change.

There exsists three 'ages' through out the known history of Enernantia (Based land of the game.) Dawn of Übel (German for evil), Birth of Dragon, and the Age of Man (Typical, I know.)

In the start of the Dawn of Übel, the realm field that seperated the Godly from the Demonic was opened for a brief moment allowing the opener, a high mage named Maniel, to cross over from the Dark realm to the Light realm.

He discovered the strange ways of the 'Good,' and he wanted to destroy it and harnest the power and turn it to pure evil. He knew he could not do it alone, so he went back to his own realm with wicked plans in mind.

When he returned to the land of Übel, he told the world about his strange sightings. Then, the dark people began to build. They built for centuries, an enormous gate. A Gate of HöllencWelt (Which means Hell Land/World in german.) Then Maniel and twelve other High Mages joined together to ,at once, concentrate all of their power upon the Gate to attemp a permanent gateway to and from each realms.

Their attemp was a complete sucsess. So, from then on until the near-end of the Dawn of Übel, the demons raged and destroyed between the two realms. Civilians of the Heilig also used the gate to escape from the horrible demons.

Then, the event that completely finished the Dawn was this: Thirteen Essence Titans of equal power to each evil High Mage were created to seal the power to each individual Mage, killing the mages and sealing the gate completely.

The real story takes place in the Age of Man. You play a young mage/ soldier/ archer (your choice ^_^) who's just learning to fight, Your name is Willow. But, fighting is now the most important skill for the everyday person over the age of twelve- Because, even thought the gate is sealed, there are still many demons roming the wilderness.

In these rough times exsists guardians who have been individually chosen by the Titans, who go to the gate monthly to kill roaming demons near it, and make sure things are okay.

And Willow happens to personally know the Guardian of Fire, Laurin. He teaches you to fight and what not.

Well, more will be told later if interest is picked up.

In the game, I am only using First Seed Material/ REFMAP/ Mack (What ever of the three you would like to say-) Resources. Which means limited resources, but I will customise alot of the resources to my desire, so you will only really be able to tell that the style is Mack based.

Since alot of the names of certain things are not all that great, I'm very open to suggestions.

- Thank you

Thank you, I've tried my best to come up with something quite original, but that's hard these days.

I like the German touch to it. I took a year of German and loved it. I only don't take it now because my school doesn't offer it. Cool idea - good luck with this!

Just another 'great beasts have been sealed' game. The main problem will, probably, be some psycho wanting to unleash the mages on the world and/or open the gate to re-create the era where Demons could kill at will. Since good always prevail, the hero will succeed at either destroying the mages and sealing the gate or prevent it from happening.

Not saying it sucks, it's just predictable...like all games with sealed creatures. If that's not the case then go ahead and try to surprise me.

Heh, no. In fact the problem doesn't involve the gate re-opening at all.

Love it. Maybe a teeny bit cliched with the "{insert number} of {insert noun}s" thing... speaking of the mages.

But I enjoyed the story, and it actually sets a good foundation for the battles, unlike a lot of games where monsters just exist with no real explanation (a small annoyance, but good to see fixed). I look forward to see where this game goes.

I do see how parts may be 'cliche,' but as i said before: I will change it little by little to make it better.

The games where monsters apear for no reason, what so ever, are games that confuse the hell out me. =P

Thank you, AsakuraHao.

One of the rare game that explains why there are monsters roaming the land. Only saw that in FFX...and in this game.

*Thinks...*  Xenosaga explained where the monsters came from. Except for some of the bossses: You'de be running down a hall and for some reason there's a giant robot sitting there ready to kill you. Though Xenosaga is hardly considered an RPG, except the fighting system.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time explained the occurance of the monsters as well, though it was vague, it was still explained.

Thats all I can think of, so I'm glad to be elaborate.

FFIX: The mist creates cretures and if you remember when you dispelled the mist there were no field monsters.

Everything sounds good, but the name Vanguard doesn't exactly sound like something someone would be called. Vanguard I do believe is a noun meaning military equiptment or something like that, so it would suit a fighters name, but I just don't like it.

And, by far, the most explained monster thing had to be .Hack, because It was based on a online game where all you did is kill monsters.

Vanguard, in my book, is the title of a general that protects the 'van' of an army. See 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms'.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms is Chinese, so they could have a differnet meaning here in America, slim chance though.

It's not nessecarilry a General, just any ranking officer that protects a shipment of military cargo, be it weapons/rations/men/etc.

Just to cut the discussion short:

Van Guard: The foremost position in an army or fleet advancing into battle.
