I don't think its a bad game. I just prefer Legend of Dragoon, mainly becuase Dart beats Cloud And Lloyd/Zieg beat Sephiroth. Now excuse me *readies fan girl shields*

I always play a game before I make opinions on it. I here people say FF7 sucks and its highly overrated, but I know some of them haven't even played the game from start to finish. A lot of gaming opinions are just pure bias as well. Anyway, that being said...

LoD was horrible!!! The game was so predictable! The first 3 disks had a guy after the moon objects, and of course, you were never able to stop him. The the 4th disk had you try to defend 3 thingamagigers, and of course, you were never able to. The graphics were just under FF7s, but it came out at the same time as games with graphics twice as good. I have to say the battle system was one of my favorites, falling just short of Star Ocean: Till the end of time. And some parts of the story were intreging, it was just way to repeditive and predictable. Now if they would have made the game about the original war 11,000 years ago, then I probably would have liked it a lot better.

FF7 was a great game, but no way do I consider it to be the best RPG ever made. The star ocean series as well as the chrono series are a few of the games I have enjoyed more than FF7.

Ridiculous.
You don't have to eat a dung beetle too know it's gross.
I've beaten FF7, and the gameplay really doesn't get any better through out the game.

Sad thing is that it'll become the reference to you when judging other RPGs, and that'll ruin em' all...

This "I'll not adhere to these fashion things cause I like to be different" is just stupid, cause you miss the best of some things that you may like, but you donīt try cause you think you'll be the cool one...donīt ever do that. The only thing thatīs fashion nowadays that you souldnīt try is drugs. The rest, itīs all experience. Donīt do that to yourself.

I disagree with thart statement. I've played very Final Fantasy and beaten almost all of them. Final Fantasy IX is far superior to Final Fantasy VII in my opinion. :jumpin:

I thought FF7 was good. Not great, good. After I beat it, I didn't feel the urge to play it a second time, like I do with most RPGs.
Heh, I'll never forget the time Cid got confused and used a megalixir on Sephiroth. >_<

I'm considering replaying it soon, though. Either that, or work on my RM2k game.

Yeah, I wish square-enix would focus more on making origninal ff games instead of exploiting ff7. Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing.

GTA is really overrated, and so are most FF games. They're still worth playing, and the music is really well composed (Hats off to Kenji Ito and Nobuo Uematsu)

Well I was bored and I didn't have many games or money to buy games back then. And besides, I've finished FFX 2 times, MGS 6 times, MGS2 4 times and MGS3 2 times. There are just some games which I like to play many, many times.

(All My Opinion, And No Offence To Anyone)

I think ff7 was a pretty good game.  Mostly for the story and characters, and all the rumors surrounding this game, made it so popular.  The fact that square soft allegedly removed a few things made room for alot of rumors around the resurrection of Aeris.  Like how they supposidly move Aeris death ahead how they still had non generic dialoge in certian areas for Aeris, one being after the snowboarding.  Also the discussion of the last boss, y there is 2 teams of 3 and one team of 2, which if you think about it really isn't that hard to figure out (Yuffie and Vincent are secret characters).  The cave that cant be explored  but is clearly visible near the city of ancients, supposidly contained power material or strong equips.  And the letter to daughter and wife that can be obtained with gameshark, supposidly letters from dyne to marline, and to Aeris's mother from her husband.  One other thing was the empty treasurechest under the gold saucer area, which was supposidly for a japanese only secret monster trick. And lastly the random items you get throughout the game.  The custom sweeper (supposidly to fix the tiny bronco, says some rumors), 1/35 or w/e it was of a soldier & masamune blade (supposidly to make a sep clone), and the tissues (supposidly if you give 99 to the crying woman in Mideel is suppose to either ressurect Aeris or play a part in ressurecting her).

I feel these types of rumors and things is what made FF7 what it is today.  Square soft just stumbled on a gold mine if you ask me. lol.  Even if they make spin offs like the two they made, they arnt gonna  be as popular as ff7. Due to the fact that they barley (Vincent and Cait Sith, 2 of the least favorite characters, even though vincent is quite popular, not as much as the rest of the cast) or dont even include the original cast (which is what most ff7 fans would like).  And will probably not have as much random crap thrown into it like ff7.  Its probably gonna turn into another ffX2, which in itself was an okay game, it really didnt have any connection to ffx that most of the fans would have wanted, besides the cameos and land scapes.  Though they did use 2 of the most popular characters and successfully add a new character to the mix. Making it an all girl cast.  Which attracted both female and male players (for obvious reasons).  But most of all was the inventive game play, class changing mid battle, which seem to be taboo in all of the previous ff games.  Im going to stop now before this becomes a novel.

Though gameplay wise i rather play srpgs like fftactics, or games in the "tales" or star ocean series.  More active then just standing there and taking hits, and given em back.  And in the regular rpg style i find bof3 to be better then ff7.
For some reason or another i find secret of mana to be better then alot of the ps1 games even though it was somewhat glitchy.

But if for the PS3 they do end up making a remake, I'd buy it.

What I've heard is that Square**** is trying to make up for the money they lost when making the Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within movie (I liked it, even though the end was sad. Why did Alec Baldwin have to die!?!? *single tear*) by cashing in on what they have already produced, hence the FFX-2 and FF7:AC, FF7:DoC, and some other FF7 spinoff they will be making for PSP. If this is the case, maybe I'll finally see that Vagrant Story sequel I've been waiting for.

If you watch the trailer for DoC (see the DoC thread for link) there are some of those scenes that flash by (like how they do in movie trailers) that show Cid and Barret. Unless you were referring to the fact that these character aren't playable (at least I think).

Agreed with the LoD thing...it SUCKED. Dart looks ridiculous. And that girlie I forgot the name is pathetic...

FF7 is the greatest of all...
