But alas, where would he keep the cannon balls?

I figured an Alkaline metal (reactive with water) paired up with a steam tank on his arm, and a bit of a potato-gun like scenario would be a good answer to the plasma cannon in a steampunk sort of scenario. Little bits of francium would be easier to store for  this megaman then an nearly infinessimal supply of cannonballs.

He could have a cylindrical wood frame on his back that feeds up into his arm.
HE could only hold like three, but it would look cool and work.

three shots for megaman wont cut it. He has 2 steam tanks, and pressure resivoirs on his arms. The tubes leading from his chest and elbows are to provide circulation for the water system needed to build pressure. With this here water and alkaline system paired with the pressure tanks on the forearm allows for the "charge shot" seen in mm4+. Ive given this some thought. Cannonballs could work for enemy weapons, but i have other things in mind for the plasma cannon. Ill keep it in mind when i design a boss, if it comes to that.

Not to mention, the light flare that would come from the reaction with alkaline metal and water, would be used as a means to give a burst of light to darkened levels.

No. Not unless I suddenly come across a professional design team, that has the okay from capcom to do it.

However, The engine i would use in my steam-mm is going to be used with my genia characters at some point. It would basically be a High res game, like megaman meets zelda2 meets street fighter, platformer/top down, and  stuff. So  yeah, no...but ill probably take a crack at making it, just with original content....megaman concept sketches are about as far as Im willing to go with fanart.

And even that is a maybe. I have 2 jobs, and a fairly active life outside of work. Frankly, it baffles me that I spend as much time as I do on the internet.
Winter is coming though, so if i can stay focused enough, maybe ill find some time to do it then.

All of these ideas I have would have a better chance of seeing the light of day if I could find a solid team of people to collab with, that knew what they were doing.

still playing around with some of the character designs. Not too worried about bodies yet.
Still have a couple of more to work out. (Brown, and Matteo) Pictured here is David, Vera, Adelle, Lionel and Doctor Troy. Not that any of those names mean anything to any of you at all.

By any chance did you base this guy off of Van Hohenheim from FMA? He looks a lot like him.
