"That'll be $299," he says as he snatches your $300. He gives you a reciept, and the guy behind you pushes you out of the line. You turn to ask "Hey, don't I get a dollar back?" He sneers in reply, "That would be part of the XBOX360 tax" before turning around, all smiles and roses to the next person in line. As you leave the store, you can hear him say "Is that the XBOX360 pack? Great choice, sir. Here, have a balloon!"

On your way home, you get a flat tyre. Twice. When you get there, you find a jet engine has landed in your bedroom, through your roof. You get a call, your grandmother has had a heart attack and is in hospital. Your friends seemingly stop calling you, and there is only 2 or 3 people on your MSN list, and they're always away. Usually you have upwards of 150 people active. Your dog goes missing.

Within a week, you manage to crawl back to the store with another $100 that you'll be paying back your mother with hard work, and trade in your unopened XBOX360 box. You get the same clerk again. Once he sees the $100, his frown disappears and is replaced with a smile. The other guy comes to the counter with an XBOX360 Deluxe pack, wrapped in a bow. Everyone smiles. You get a balloon. A rainstorm stops. AIDS gets cured. God visits you personally and grants you three wishes. Everyone is happy.

That's a true story, BTW.

Well, firstly to stop the PS3/Xbox360 is better war, I'll get some facts out of the way:

XB360 has a cheap tri-core processor while the PS3 has a cell processor. However, the Xbox360's el-cheapo processor is comparable in power to the PS3's processor (which is part of why the PS3 will cost so much). All the PS3 can do better is that is can have more stuff on the screen. Another part of the costs is that the PS3 is going to have a blue-ray drive(the other part of why it'll cost so much) whereas the 360 supports DVDs and possibly later, HD-DVDs. As for the backwards compatibility, why bother if you're like me and already have all three systems? And when the PS3 comes out in December, the 360 shortage will be over and Microsoft can drop the price by about 50 bucks. I don't see the point in getting the PS3... Most of the games that made it great have moved to the Xbox or Nintendo(like Resident Evil). Personally, I think the revolution is going to win this console war. If you own a gamecube and actually looked at what it can do, you'll figure it out.

Well if I buy a ps3, I won't have to buy a new dvd player that can play blue ray disks when they start making movies with them. Unless the article I read was wrong and they're never going to make blue ray movies...

Meh, by time the ps3 is cheap enough to buy for $200, I'm sure I'll know for sure. I may get the nintendo revolution though, the controller only has a few buttons, but it has that nifty motian sensor or whatever that my turn out to be cool. By time thats down to $200, I'm sure there'll be a lot of reviews on it.

It just depends on what kinds of games you like for example if you like halo go with X-box but if you like games such as final fantasy/ devil may cry/ Othre games that arn't coming to mind. then go with PS

I would choose the PS3 no matter how cool some of the X-box games are but that is me.

And Big_Duke, Condemned is a sweet game.

And Drace, Call of Duty 2 on Xbox 360 = runs better than the PC version (according to reviews) and doesn't require an amazingly good Pc. The PC version, on the other hand, has better multiplayer, due to the fact that more players can play in the same match.

We still can't leave out the revolution... It could beat out the other consoles, and as for the controller, supposedly we can hook up our GC controllers to it. If only they weren't so secretive about it.

Yeah, the revolution could be cool. Instead of pushing a button to swing a bat, you could just do it yourself. Fun They're probably secretive about it because they themselves are not sure what all they're going to do with it, and they don't want to commit themselves to anything they won't come through with later.

Yeah, here EB and Future Shop usually get games like a week after America, but I had to wait an extra month for Grafitti Kingdom because some truck crashed.
