American glamour
« on: February 23, 2006, 04:33:53 PM »
SOmething weird happened to me today.

I was this link at a webpage that asked "Do you know which are the USA states?". As I didnīt know em all (made me remember that FRIENDS chapter when ROss couldn't figure out all the states) I clicked and started taking a look at it.

And somehow I had this (good) sensation that made me feel like the US are a place that suggest "adventure". Thatīs not literally what I mean, but the place has this kind of glamour (maybe by the influence of the whole culture/idealogy the country sends out to the world) that attracts me to it.

Itīs like, the States' names seem cool, they seem to be worlds apart the other states and so on.

Iīve been to Florida once, and it really looked like another world. At least Orlando looked like a dream city: no trash in the ground, no beggars, no poverty...

I dunno, maybe itīs just me, but other places such as England and France donÂīt attract me this way (no offense).

Anyone knows what Iīm talking about?

EDIT: whatīs with this freaking bug????

Yeah, the big cities are pretty cool. But the US is just like any other country, it's got its good and its bad.

Yeah, the US has poverty and all, but it is low compared to other countries. A lot of big cities like New York, LA, Chicago, etc, all have areas of poverty.

I've been to Florida 5 times (never to Orlando though), and I have to say it is one of the cool states (in my opinion). Almost as cool as Wisconsin ;) . I love waking up to the smell of cheese curds. Though the smell of cow crap I could live without...

I've been in car trips around the country, and each state is unique and differant in their own way, and its really neat to just to see all the differant cultures and stuff.

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

Maybe Charas doesn't understand the "ī" you're using, I use the " ' " that is below the " " " that is right and left on the keyboard.

Well, I think I know what it might be, although Grandy's makes sense as well. Perhaps Charas is wordfiltering one key to the A thing, or, if it's what I think, we'll have to wait till me friend comes online.

i get what you are saying but i do not agree. i traveled to many states.
all i saw was the problems every where i go. new jersey is not the best place to visit. down south the people were really mean to me. America is just another contry. I do not look at it as ADVENTURE i look at it as DEVIDED, even thought it 1,would be hard to mantain a large country, and 2 The name says diffrent

thats my opinion

I agree...STAY AWAY FROM JERSEY PLEEZ!

but yeh I do know what you mean. It feels good to just know you can get up and leave anywhere you want. And there's something for everyone here. east coast, west coast(like woah) western states (howdy) mountain states (ofmg wheres the black ppl?) and our "urban areas"

I still think tokyo is the best city though =

I aways wanted to go to Japan, I think it's that whole "glamour" thingy Almeida once made a topic about. I wonder if I can find it.

I guess, America CAN be an adventurous place for a foreigner. I've been to a lot of states tho, and from what I remember ('cuz I was just a wee wittle tyke) it was nothing special. I definitely want to go California tho, or Hollywood, just to see what it's really like there. But I'm more excited about venturing outside the states.
