I was using Parallel Process Charsets for the numbers. IT LAGGED.
Now I'm fixing it. I'm still using charas instead of pictures for numbers. I have half of them done. This is the main reason I haven't posted.

I've been working on my mapping a lot. You play as Gale first in the game and this is one of the first places he goes to:

The city will be huge. It will make Estrana from The Way look pathetic. Problem is that with that chipset it's hard to draw good looking houses. Normally I'm really good. Here's an example

You have to admit for RTP that's pretty decent. I've read the tuts by both Meiscool and Robotam (Yes I know who you are). They're pretty good. Problem is that the don't go into detail about making houses.

As for programming I've been working on the Equipment Menu first:

It's far from done. Use your imagination.

To be honest I'm aiming for a full version release. There will be 1 long demo. I've mapped out all the linear events from the start of the game to the end and found out some parts of my story didn't make sense. I've already fixed it. With one sentence for each event on college rule paper it's 2 pages front to back. I'm hoping for 7 hours of gameplay without including side quests.

These features will be in the game:
Day/Night System
Calender System-I'm proud of this. It's finished. There will be 12    months with 30 Days each. Holidays and special events will take place on certain days. I just have to make the cities and holidays.
Weather System
Running-You'll run with the CTRL button and use SHIFT to open the menu.
FIGHTING MINIGAME-I'm extremely happy for this. You'll use the number keys to move (Back and forth like normal fighting games).
The arrows will be attacking. It will play like Soul Calibur with a kick, 3 Attacks, 3 Stances, and Defending. Each character will have four special moves. That screen with the two names on my first post are what I'm talking about.

I need tips with the fighting game. Right now I'm using Set Hero Position X and Y and stuff. If you know what I'm talking about or you know how to make an ABS please give me some tips. I'm mainly looking for Enemy AI.

Overall this week has been hectic. I've been trying to go to summerschool (NOT STUPID, WANT TO TAKE AN ART CLASS), my grandma had to go to the hospital (She's okay now though), I've had a lot of homework and tests. I'm surprised I got to do so much. That's all. I'm going to bed.

Wow, I love how I'm randomly brought into conversations.

Take it more as a complement, someone making "Melookbad" ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho.

Anyways, I really like your menus. Maps are good too, but that forest is a little dark to tell much about.

Plus, I'm not sure, but I don't think you can use the ctrl key. If you press that, it's supposed to make you able to move over events and the map in phasing mode.

I hate RTP. Even if the map is good, it still lacks life. The house's roof is highly... oddish. That's my 2 cents.

And lastly, the reason your thingie is lagging is probally because you're using the same varible for two or more of the health numbers. You need a seperate varible for each one, or a 0.0 wait between each one to reduce the lag.

The menu thing I meant to say press the ESC button. It was after midnight and I wasn't thinking. The SHIFT button will still be used for the menu.

Like I said that RTP map is NOT IN THE GAME. I whipped that up in 2 minutes to show I could make houses.

The lag came from the number charsets. I had 32 Parallel Process Events on 1 map. Now I'm using Call Common Events to memorize and split digits of stats. Now I'm using Autostart erase events to change the numbers. There is no lag at all now.

I tried to make the pics look connected. It looks messy I know. I'm going to fix it. For now I only want to know if the layout is good.

I'm finally going to start the Equipment Menu. For those of you wondering, I'm going to completely finish the CMS then the Battle System before I actually start the game. I already wrote the entire storyline down. By the time I finish the Menu and the Battles, Production will go by as fast as lightning.

Card Game Tetra Master

That's the basic background. I know it's very pixelly and it uses a Vagrant Story Pic. I have Limited Resources.

My card game goes like this. It plays just like Tetra Master, where you and your opponent flip cards. There are arrows and stuff like the Playstation version. I thought of a problem though...there is a 50 Picture limit isn't there? I at first wanted randomly generated arrows and numbers. I decided not to. In fact there are a bunch of limits that I had to change. I decided to do these to make up for it:

1. There will be one specific form of a card nomatter what. That means that when you get a Leviathan card with arrows at the top, bottom, and bottom-left corner, every Leviathan card will be like that.

2. There won't be hexidecimals. I'm sorry but I can't understand them. There will be 4 numbers for Attack, Magic, Defense, and Magic Defense instead. There will also be a little letter A or M to determine the cards type: Attack or Magic.

3. To make up for the cuts, there will be Elemental Affinities, Zodiac Signs, and Special Abilities.
=====Elements: The eight elements are Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, Thunder, Ice, Light, and Darkness. These will either double or half your Magic and your Magic Defense.

=====Zodiac Signs: This works just like above except it affects your Attack and Defense: Pisces, Capricorn, Virgo, Aries, Tauros, Aquarias, Scorpio, Libra, Sagittarus, Leo, Cancer, and Gemini.

=====Special Abilities: There will be special card abilities on certain cards that either effect stats or do things like switch the places of cards.

Please post opinions. I know the rules sound confusing and I'm trying to get it well explained (I have ingame tutorials to make). I know I'm supposed to be making the Equipment menu but it gets boring with all that coding. I ended up making a lot of chipset edits.

That one probably took the longest time to do. Like I said I was bored. Again please tell me if the card game sounds fun or not and if I should change anything. I might even make a separate side game to be released before this demo just for Tetra Master. I'm planning for the entire card game to be finished and put in the demo with about half of the cards locked away until the full version.

Again please post opinions, comments, suggestions, and criticism. I'm going to finish this game, I know it.

Slight Equip Update

I haven't posted in ages, I might as well give an update. My last day of school is tomorrow (it's only an hour long, stupid huh?). I might get a summer job, but other than that I'm pretty free for time now. These past few days I've been studying for exams and stuff to get my grades up. I brought up one class to an A, 2 to Bs, I was failing a speech class but now I'm passing, so it has been hard to get some work on this.

I'm working on the Equip Menu. I've mostly been doing the graphics work.

     I like it. Some of that used rips, but I drew a lot of things in there (Especially the Exp and Lv sign, I'm proud of those). That little weapon icon with the name next to it, I have made 180 of those things already. Yes they are done. This is fifteen weapons each for each character. Yes, they each have their own sprite with their own lettering.
The total amount of equips should be
-180 Weapons
-25 Armors
-25 Clothes
-25 Helmets
-50 Accessories

     While I'm doing all of the graphics, can someone give me a link to a custom equip menu tut? For the most part, I know what I'm doing. I'm guessing you set a variable to your weapons ID and use Conditional Branches to check what weapons you own, what are equiped, and your current weapons ID number. I still would like a tutorial to see what I'm doing.

     As you should already know, the entire CMS will be completely finished by the time the demo comes out. So will the battle system. I'm sorry but I don't think I'll really put maps out as screens for a while. I want the CMS done first.

As always post comments, criticism, and if you can a custom equip menu tut.
