So, I decided to take a break from VX (I swear, i'm going to rip my hair out trying to map with it.)

So I started a project in 2k3, using meiscool chipsets, and this is a screen I just made.  The backdrop worked really well I think.

Felix, that looks like a cool abs. I would recolor some of the charsets so that they better match, especially the golden sun thingie.

I like the chipset.  I really like how it goes into the water from the land. Could use some more color though.  Its really green right now. Although if its new, I guess there is still more to come for it.

yeah but as far as i can tell game players dont like prioritizing. and that would be a problem. you get abilities by finding hidden shrines throughout the world and you use them by mashing button combos.
the game is kinda like actraiser meets vagrant story.

I tried finding the meiscool mapping tut, took me ages, but some of the images were broken.  I think it was rotobam's addition.

It's funny you're using a meiscool chipset, I needed something innovative for a haunted house type place, so I resorted to a meiscool chipset as well.



If anyone followed my game at all, these from Chapter III, I haven't done anything much with the game lately though, but I have been screwing around with this. I feel the second scene is a little empty, but I'm still getting the feel of the chipset and how to use it best.

Since the chipset isn't that good at filling in space, I would just make the rooms and halls smaller. Also, try using the 'jet in jet out' thing I did with the walls in my example screen.

The outside of the house looks very good. Try editing the chip to add some vines or skulls or something hanging from the walls and trees for a gloomy feel.
