He's the villain from an episode of "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" called "The Tale of the Renegade Virus." If you don't know what that show is, clearly you were not a child of the 90's.

RULE #1 I win! *looks up and grins and then points to the kid* You lose! Yeah, I watched it on youtube out of curiosity.
Mr. Brain midget virus king of cyberspace land still needs a gnome punt though. I would match up my lawn gnomes against him in an epic war of stubbies.

Yeah, it's a pretty lolzy episode of a pretty lolzy show.

And don't be so hard on the poor little person. He probably got a lot of makeup in his eyes and had to sacrifice his dignity for this riveting role.....EINSTEINNN.

I remember that episode more clearly now. I was laughing at it as a kid. The guy looked hilarious, running around with that silly big brain and the metallic makeup. He was probably having fun with this role and laughing a lot inside (and out, but in character). Some people just have fun with it. The target audience was young after-all, but still, it was funny when I saw it so... I dunno. XD

Looks great so far, Dren. I usually don't like sprite-sized battlers, but the battle animations definitely add to it.

Thanks! I thought the transition from motionless elevator to a moving elevator would be a problem for you guys.

Actually it is. For me at least.

A way it could be alleviated is if the party entered the elevator from the background instead of the foreground. That way, the elevator door can properly pan up and away from the elevator itself after it gets going. The alternative would be to use a picture for the elevator loading platform, so that that part pans up and off the camera's view once the elevator starts rolling.

The problem I'm having is the background is set as a panorama. Even if I map out the entirety of the shaft with say a 20x250 map, pictures cover up charasets. And you can't use events to change the speed of a panoramas movement. You can only use an event to change the panorama and set the new panorama to a different speed. But when you do that there's an awkward glitch in the graphics that is extremely obvious.

I'm sorry, but those maps look like crap. There's no other way to put it. The first ones you shown weren't too bad, but these last two are just hard to look at. The water and grass in the last screen strays too far from your 8-bit style. The tile you're using for the rock wall just looks awkward, and I'm pretty sure that rock floor is really meant for a wall. And if I'm wrong about these tiles, that just goes to show you I have no idea what's going on in this map.

=\ Sorry man
