I doubt that they'll use the Wiimote for those kinds of games (think the Donkey Kong bongo games or Hey You, Pikachu! for an example of games that use a different type of controller from the standard), they'll prob'ly only use it when possible, but make sure to market the controller enough for when the Wiimote just won't do. And in any case, "Wiimote" is dead-set in my mind as the proper termonology. :D

My prediction: Sony will still emerge the winner, but Ninty will have a much better percentage on console ownage than this generation. Microsoft will stay about the same, maybe a bit more.

I will probably only get the Ps3, but only when the price drops considerably.

Consider the Ps2: it launched at a high price with few good games. It is far more worth it waiting for the price to drop and many games you want to come out.

The main reason I want the Ps3 is due to the Final Fantasy series, which I consider as the greatest game series of all time, and the abundance of other good games (MGS for instance).

Wii... that controller looks painful to me. Even the one that doesn't resemble a television remote looks quite impractical and I think that the motion sensors will complicate gameplay, not enhance it. There was this controller which came out for the Ps1 which operated with motion sensory (obviously won't be as well developed as the Wii's one) and I found it was just annoying and I turned off the motion sensors very quickly. I just don't find the idea of using motion sensitivity appealing, much like I dislike the DS' touchscreen. That said, the Super Smash Brothers game will be very good I'd imagine, although I think the Zelda game is overhyped but that's only because I feel Zelda is overrated.

The Xbox 360 I have no interest in as I do not like Xbox as a whole and in my opinion, it has good specifications but little good games.

I'm still not bored of videogames... I consider myself a fairly hardcore gamer and it's very satisfying being good at games. RPGs in particular I like as I love to get immersed in the storyline, music etc. A good RPG can live in my imagination for ages afterward, and some game music is truly sublime and beautiful (just about most of the music in Suikoden II for instance, Rokkaku being a nice highlight... so beautiful...)

So yeah, Ps3 :D

BTW
this is from that Joystiq website. They polled people on what consoles they would want to get.

And surprise surprise...

I knew it. Seriously, I did. I'd be either the XBox 360 and Wii, or the Wii percentage, based on how much money I have at the time.

I'll get a Wii. Why? Because:

-Nintendo is my first choice in video-game material
-The controller will kick ***
-it will probably cost 199$-299$, and I'm not about to pay 600 bucks just to play videogames (I don't want a dvd player that's also a vg console, I want only a vg console)

I don't see why Zelda is overrated, though. Zelda is the best series the company's got! I'm not about creating discord, though... My personal opinion!

The more I think about it, the more I say that the controller will be awesome. I mean, it's not like every game developer will use it in its games! I'm pretty sure some of them will omit the motion sensor just like some omitted the touch screen for the DS. Think about it for a sec... and again, not looking down at any of you.

And after many years of being the little guy, Nintendo might have finally found the Super Mushroom that will bring it to the top once more (a little Mario humor never hurt anyone (and yeah, that was a bad joke))!

From Gamefaqs:
Which of the three next-gen consoles do you think you'll own by this time next year?
All three                     6.62%    6257
PS3 and Wii               16.69%  15774
PS3 and 360              5.28%    4986
Wii and 360               13.18%  12455
Just a 360                  5.31%    5022
Just a PS3                  17.03%  16093
Just a Wii                   27.57%  26052
None of them             8.32%    7865
TOTAL VOTES 94504

Wii WILL be 1st and PS3 will be second.

Getting a new generation console is a matter of observing the games being released and the company supporting/migrating. Simple: Iīll get whichever has my favourite series: if Suikoden, Final Fantasy, Grandia, Front Mission, Breath of Fire, Xenothings and other stay with SOny, Sony will be my choice. Otherwise Iīll get the one that has them.

the XBOX is the only one I really didnīt want to get...Microsoft canīt have the videogames market too...Itīll rotten.

Wii. Nintendo's main objective is to make the **** they make fun to play. And they dont want a ridiculous amount of money for it either. 250? Reasonable. THey always come out with some revolutionary idea too. Those controllers are badass. And can you imagine how durable the thing must be? Okay, so me and my cousin hit his gamecube with a baseball bat. 30 minutes later, we're playing SSB Melee on it. We took the screen of a Nin. DS off of its other part and cracked the screen. It was hanging on by this flat wire thing. STILL ****ing WORKED. Gotta love Nintendo, they care about their customers. I might save up for PS3 cause some of my favorite titles are on it, but Im definately getting the Wii first. ....... And holy **** new smileys?! :luvff:  :jest:

Just because I'm tired of hearing "Wii sucks because the controller's gonna make all the games suck", I just want to say: yes, for the first few months, every game is gonna run with the motion-detection gimmick, but just like with the DS, once that time passes, all the cool ****'s gonna start flowing out, and motion-detection will simply be used as a sort of extra button, much like the touch screen on the DS is today. And the game for the Wii that will officially be the most custom-tailored for the system is... Ping Pong.
