CoasterKrazy=Correct. I've known this for quite some time, now. I'd say,(read as:Oh,dear!)there's always nuclear winter, too. And Kijuki's meteor, which is real. This happened to the moon, it happened to the dinosaurs, and now a big rock this way comes. On the subject of pollution leading to heat, leading to death, ozone depletion, which leads to cancer, and eventually the apocalypse, as we know it, some place near Russia,(can't remember the name)is selling full-blooded electric automobiles for the frikkin' SAME PRICE as the gasoline ones.

Guy: I'll take that red one.

Salesman: But, we have an electric version. It's not as good, but it's saving the environment.

Guy: No! I don't wanna be no hippie!

I hope to make the most of what's leading humans to their own, pitiful, morbid, painful downfall.

On the subject of heat and such, same thing's happening where I live, Osmose. Well, only the highs are at 118', a lot less then where you live, I bet! Good thing my power hasn't blacked out...yet!

And the future, yes=
hovercars,
robots,
and aliens.
but,
hovercars: Developed by Korea and they look like tanks mixed with mops, and they only float a few centimeters off the ground.(And there's Maglevs, they're hovertrains, not hovercars, but, hey, they can go around 300 mph, because of the no friction.)
robots:Yes, but not very good, nothing like Bender.
aliens:Yeah! But their not intelligent or big or complex.

And no, Glitch, scientists ALREADY HAVE found critical ozone depletion in Antarctica. And they have veggie-oil-run cars, now.
:D

Thing is, Greenhouses gases are not entirely based upon fossil fuels, which is the popular belief. Everything on this earth creates this. However, fossil fuels do play a part of it, but so does EVERYTHING with carbon. Methane, the wonderful gas that comes out of cows hind quarters is also has an big effect. This is something we CANNOT prevent. People keep saying the world is to end soon. Stop with all that. The world will be fine. It's too soon for it to end.

i know that too. *is writing an essay on the issue*

Volcanic disruptions are a good non-human source of the gases floating around.

But it all contributes.

And no the world wont die yet of that, its the meteor that will kill us =D

Dun care tho, about time actually; supposedly millions of years and we havent been strcuk again? TISBOUT TIME

It's not going to be for a while. I'd give several thousands of years before we get struck again. Pretty much once we become a highly advanced civilization and we're far off from that.

Hopefully not, i rather die in a stupider world than have a world be destroyed when we all advance and such.

Who knows perhaps the world will self destruct sometime soon =D

lol self destruct.

there other things, we are waiting for the big one =X the earthquake that will get a good chunk of people. Along with following effects.

PErhaps a nuclear war, that be interesting.

Whatever it'll be i expect it to be soon. or if not in the next 3 centacyles =X

Someone said once that if humanity wants to prevail, seeing hope and its doom its a good start. I forgot where i read/heard tho. Who knows it might've been a southpark episode

No offense, but just because it's hot, doesn't mean global warming is coming, it's been this hot before, and it will be this hot again, it's called a heat wave, deal with it.  And lets face it, there is no way to prove the ozone layer is depleating, no way at all, you can't see it.

And yes, a new fuel source has already been invented, and ford and most other car companies have already allied themselves with the company that produces the fuel. Chicago for instance has already pledged to switch their taxis from gas cars to cars that use this new fuel.

It's called Bioethanol, or Cellulosic Ethanol. It's carbon neutral so it doesn't produce the gasses you're so worried about. And it's cheap and effective. (I suggest buying some stock in any companys that make this stuff since a line of Bioethanol cars is coming out in 07)

Back on topic.

Holy freaking crap it was hot this week!
I'm just glad it's started to cool down here in Michigan.

Um... yes, I take great offense to that. To answer your question anyway, no. If you read my posts, you would actually SEE my point of view and not say something dumb like "No offense, but just because it's hot, doesn't mean global warming is coming, it's been this hot before, and it will be this hot again, it's called a heat wave, deal with it." Ok, and yeah, you know what "no offense" means? It means you're about to say something offensive. Oh, yeah, last time I checked scientists weren't hippies either. And no if you're going to ask me if my family is a bunch of scientists too.

"And lets face it, there is no way to prove the ozone layer is depleating, no way at all, you can't see it." Yeah, you're totally right. I guess the air isn't composed of a mix of oxygen and nitrogen and some other stuff too. And I guess the stages of stars aren't known. They're too far away.

No offense, but you're the one sounding like a hippie to me right now. You don't seem to care about scientific studies/evidence. Oh, yeah, are you an atheist? I don't suppose you've seen God before, unless maybe you were having a hippie hallucination.

Yes, this post is totally unlike me, but screw it. I take great offense to trying to be shut down by a short, ignorant post such as that one.

Oh yeah, and global warming is on topic, being that it's discussing the heat. And no it isn't "zomg it's hot," which you would've seen in my last post. The heat simply brings up the topic, which does exist, btw. And global warming isn't something that "is coming" either, it's a gradual process that's taking place. The Earth doesn't just erupt in flames.

So see, if I was a hippie, I would be more like you and think the world was too "pure" for something like that to happen.

Also, IYRC, global warming isn't an "it's hot, deal with it" situation. If it was all our problems would be solved.

@ Meiscool: Bush thing, lmao.

EDIT: Thank you EXO Muffin. If they couldn't measure ozone, they wouldn't be able to measure any gases at all really.

Once again, excuse this heated post, but I have to say I did take great offense to you, Glitch, especially because you tried to extinguish my arguement with something I already touched upon previously.

Off topic.

I think I saw a working hover car on TV once. One of those VH1 shows. It looked real, it had people in it, and it looked like it actually worked. I think they said 2011 for extremely rich people. Any news on this?

Yeah, it was so bad in MI the last couple days that all I could do was sit up on my fouton and play video games.  A few weeks ago, I could barely stand being up in my room because I was sweating pretty profusely.  Then we finally put in the fans and AC, so it's not so bad.  Plus, today was pretty nice down where I live (some backwater town you probably won't find on a state map).  Yay!

Then I had to pick up a bunch of limbs out of my front yard.  The tree's falling apart, and there was this huge frickin' log out there that I was kinda afraid to pick up, due to the termites and grubs that were probably still flowing through it....  I just didn't want to get any of that crawling down my shirt...

I must say, Michigan's got it the worst.  Were not used to this heat, and it's been 100+  On Monday, Detriot (My general area, or my neighbor) was at 107 degrees.  Most people in my area consider 80-90 too hot.  I have the air conditioning on at 75.  Were encouraged to stay inside from 1pm - 8pm.

It's not global warming.  It's summer.  - Colbert Report.

theres  proof tho that the world has gotten warmer in the last 100 years than in the last 1000 years (or some giant amount of years). Last 100 years = cars ships airplanes and industries came on heavely.

Industrial revolution started it. However, as the temperatures rise, we will adapt to the changes in temperature in order to survive.

It may not be that.  It may be a coincidence.  Perhaps the earth has gone on a teanie tiny tilt.  A slight tilt can dirastically change the entire earth, so perhaps this was a slight slight tilt.

(I'm merely starting a debate for fun.  I also believe global warming is happening, but I also like to think of other possiblities)

Most likely it won't be better than the movies. Ever. Those things are already more real than reality.

anyway, end of the world... well, if it'll happen, it's inevitable, I'm less concerned about this than with my own death, as I can do everything humanly possible to prolongue my life, while I can't stop a giant meteor.
Not without some huge materias and a giant robot.
