One of my best friends is a cutter, and another girl I use to hang with cut herself as well. They were both depressed, retarded, whatever you feel like calling it. A lot of things happened in their lives (rape, ect) that ended up with them seeing doctors and so on. Now they were both given pills from their doctors, but the girl I use to hang with ended up in the mental place, and my friend he went into times when he was depressed and started cutting himself again (I've spoken with him before about it, and he actually stopped for a while). After he stopped messing around with the meds, he was fine. But after I graduated, I've been told from one of our friends that he started cutting himself again because he's lonely and he's a nobody now. Which makes me go, is he seekin attention? Like I know he has issues. EVERYONE has issues, but like com'on? As for the other chick, she dropped outta school and my guess is she's out whorin and so forth. [/B]

Knowing people who are depressed really gives ya some perspective though, dudn't it? Being depressed does not make you emo, and vice versa. I have a mild form of depression (surprise), and a few other 'issues', but that doesn't make me go up to my bathroom and break my skin open. I also don't isolate myself from the rest of my family by locking myself in my room and blaring screamo music all day. Despite what people say about me, I neither look nor act emo. Now I just have to make my friends believe that and I'll be good to go...
