You could use chains wuth pointy edges that can be stabbed into enemies and smash them whenevr u want =D

Maybe a stationary turret that fires some sort of ranged weapon at anything that comes close (but leaves you defenseless)? Either that, or a chakram/Magical Boomerang that you can control after you throw it. Or maybe a ball-and-chain that the character swings around at close range to protect himself, but doesn't have any sort of long range ability, and leaves the char vulnerable to arrows and whatnot.

Maybe a grenade launcher, hehe, that'd be cool. Let's see...

-Poison Darts.
-Gloves that let you pull trees and huge boulders up to throw.
-Ball and Chain that you can toss the ball at an enemy, then go pick it back up and re-attatch it.
-Some kind of claws you attatch to hands.
-Double bladed spears. Though that's really just a spear.

What are sword chucks? I have throwing swords, if that's what they are.

I like the idea of darts. I think I'll use that. I'll have them cause different status effects rather than actual damage.

And, for kicks, I might make a doll that blows up (I was going to write "blow up doll", but figured that didn't sound right)

You could define every charectors class, then decide their wepons/armours that suit them and that they can equip (no $h!t)

and you could class similar weapons as one type/atribute

Example - spears/pikes/poleblade (maby lances)
              - bows/crossbows
              - bastard/rapier/flail
              - daggers/punch daggers/knuckles(maby nun-chuck)
              - axe/2-hand sword.ect
