Agreed with the last two posts. Wind Waker beats the hell out of a lot of games out there, and once I beat Twilight Princess, I'm gonna go beat Ocarina of Time, and then finish off Wind Waker!

I have completion issues! Don't judge me! /fetal position

In the grand scheme of things, Majora's Mask is still my favorite, but WW makes a second place behind it. I never understood how people said it was too kiddy. Hell, it has the exact plot as every other Zelda, and all those are considered serious. Don't give me that thing about style, if you can take Sonic Adventure seriously you can take WW.

If you can take Sonic Adventure?!
You mean that non-cel shaded, more realistic than it's predecessors game where you don't play as a child?
Oh yeah, totally the same. Saeeem.
And how does Wind Waker have the same story? Sailing the seas searching for treasure? KYS instantly.
I'd say TP is my favorite, then MM, OoT, WW, Linkz Awakening, teh rest.

I liked Link's Awakening, then Majora's Mask, then the rest. My friend just got TP, so I'll be heading over there sooner then later.

By the same, I mean it all boils down to Ganon is a bad guy, you get the Master Sword, you collect
  • of [item], he kidnaps Zelda, you save Hyrule, everyone lives happy ever after.

Notice how I never said I have a problem with this. I love the entire series to death, but I'm not so much of a fanboy I won't say the obvious.

Fine. Ganon or [Insert random non-canon villian]. Awakening, II, Majora's and 4 Swords are the only ones I can think of that don't have Ganon as the final boss in the end.

However, out of the 13 games (not including CD-I games), Ganon/Ganondorf has only been the villain in 6 games. That means that there are 7 games where he was not the villain.

Meh, they all have the same pattern, there's no denying it. Whether or not it's Ganon himself there is someone as a placeholder for him. But you are wrong, as if there are 13, there are only 5 non-Ganon games.

Wrong. There are 5 games where Ganon is not *MENTIONED*. Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons are the key here. While Ganon may be in them, he was not the main villain of the game. Unfortunately, while I would like to post the list of all games where Ganon was not a main villain, I cannot because of spoilers.. Namely because Archem has yet to beat a Zelda game created after A Link to the Past. (Despite him having all of them)

But, I can list all of the Zelda games released in the US. (sans the monstrous CDi games)

-}NES{-
Zelda I
Zelda II: Adventure of Link
-}SNES{-
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
-}N64{-
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
-}Gamecube{-
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
-}Gameboy{-
Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
-}Gameboy Color{-
Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
-}Gameboy Advance{-
Legend of Zelda: Four Swords
Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap

As basic math dictates, the number of Zelda games is 13. 16, if you count the CDi games, and 18 if you add the upcoming Phantom Hourglass and Tingle RPG games. I didn't count remakes of games such as Link's Awakening DX and the GBA version of ALttP.

You see, if you're going to add a qualifier, you need to do it in the original statement.

*claps at the list and it's inclusion of Four Swords [GBA], scoffs at the disorder of the consoles and ignoring of the Wii release of Twilight Princess first*

I consider the Wii version to be a remake because it was origionally slated for the Gamecube.. And there isn't a point in posting doubles when I'm explaining how many Zelda games were released.

Actually the order of consoles is in the correct order, with portables and consoles seperated. It may not be in a chronological order, but that is irrelevant.

I beat the game with 3 hearts and no bottles, and I did the Cave of Ordeals with 0 rupees and blindfolded while suspended 100 feet above the ground.
