You, my friend, are spoiling off the Wah-zoo.

Although I am at the exact spot you are.

Am I the only one who took a slow approach to this game? No outside information such as Strategy guides, FAQ's or message boards at all, and I am limiting myself to time per-day in which I get to play it, so I can enjoy it a lot longer.

In otherwords, I am taking my Sweet time.

The only real spoiler is the part about the temple of time.. I mean If you have this game, chances are you've seen the trailers, or took a look at the box to know about wolf link.

Really it was only minor spoilers.

damn! Wii is sold out. I have to get the gamecube version what a drag. Although this is a different zelda game I may get phantom hourglass for the DS whenever that comes out.

About the whole wether gannon is in the games or not, he has minions also. vatii may have been one of his minions or maybe has his soul? and in the oracle games (gameboy color) Ganon had to be unlocked by connecting one to the other (spoiler I know.) Otherwise you had to beat just general onyx or that female villian in  LoZ: OOAges. Oh and Fourswords adventures for the gamecube had ganon and vatii not the origional four swords.

The only connection to Ganon that Vaati has is in Four Swords Adventures for the gamecube. He was being used by Ganon to get the trident of power if I remember my Zelda Lore correctly.

In OoA and OoS, however, Ganon was NOT the main villain. If I recall correctly, the main villain's goal was to resurrect Ganon. Thus, Ganon was not the main villain, but the goal of the main villain.

Vaati really has no ties to Ganon outside of FSA, if you wan't to know Vaati's true origins, I suggest playing Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap... Or you can just ask me.

No Gannon is the true final boss of Oracle of Seasons and Ages, you have to beat one, get the code, start a new game with the code on the other one, beat the final boss of that one too, than Gannon is revived and you must travel through the hidden dungeon and fight him to the death. He is too easy in that game though, Twinerova was much more difficult.

Although he may be the final boss, he is not the main villain. People get that confused a lot so I don't mind explaining.

The main villain's goal was the revival of Ganon, correct? Well while Ganon's revival was the goal of the main villain, and the final boss of the game, he most certainly was not the main villain, or antagonist. An example I could use would be from Final Fantasy 9.

In Final Fantasy 9, the final boss was Necron. However, he played almost no role in the entire story.. Nor was he the directly manipulating the antagonist's (Kuja's) actions. In this game, we can see that Kuja is the main villain, but he is not the final boss.

Just to reiterate, the final boss is not always the main villain.

Now in OoA/OoS, Ganon, while his revival was the goal of the main villain, (I forget who it was) He was not manipulating the main villain from beyond the grave. Thus, he is simply a final boss with little meaning to the story, such as Necron. (However, he was more important to the story in OoA/OoS than Necron was in FF9)

Ganon was simply the goal of the main villain's actions. Nothing more.

No, if you play the games right (one after the other), then you'll find that Ganon really is the true boss of the game. Don't preach what you don't know.

I'm not questioning whether or not he is the true boss of the game, what I'm questioning is whther or not he is the main antagonist of the game... In other words, the main villain.

Suppose there is a game where a mage is trying to summon a demon to destroy the earth. You defeat him, but the ritual is completed in time for the demon to summon and you must now beat it. True, the demon may be the final boss, but he is only the final boss because of the mage's actions. He is a by-product of what the antagonist did. In reality, he (the demon) is not the main villain, the mage (antagonist) is.

So what I'm saying is that the person trying to revive Ganon is the antagonist, Ganon's retunr is merely a by-product of the antagonist's actions. It would be different if Ganon tried to contact the antagonist from beyond the grave, but alas, no such contact occured.

Allow me to reiterate once again, the final boss is not always the main villain. Just because he is the main villain of the series does not give him a worldly classification of "Oh he's the final boss, he must  be the main villain in this game!"

Something tells me you guys still won't understand.. So I'll make a list of every game I know of where the final boss is not the main villain.

Final Fantasy 9
Legend of Zelda: OoA/OoS
Megaman X6
Final Fantasy 3 (NES or DS versions)
Xenosaga episode 1

There aren't many that I know of, but these are some prime examples of the final boss loosely being tied to the antagonist.

In FFX, the final boss is inside the main villian. Does that count?

Ganon is A main boss. Just because it takes some effort to get to him, it doesn't mean he isn't A main. Just because the game leads you to believe otherwise doesn't mean he's not.

Look at Skies of Arcadia. For a good 3/4 of the game, you are led to believe that Admiral/Lord Galcian is the bad guy. You play through thinking he will be the final boss. Then you kill him, but wait! The title of main boss shifts to Ramirez who is the final boss!

Remember, after you beat what you believe to be the main boss, if I remember they give some little speech about Ganon, then die. Then you get to see Koume and Kotake with Zelda on a table, talking about how they will ressurect Ganon. This sequence of events shifts the title of main boss to Ganon, because from this point on any further gameplay is aimed to fighting Ganon, who is now your main boss.

FF9 was totally different. The final boss just appears out of nowhere and has less than 1% relevance. Ganon has entire scenes dedicated to him in the single game.
