Charas' own Wiki

Thanks to our dear old admin SaiKar, I found an awesome site: EditThis.info. Essentially, it lets you make your own free wiki, and add, edit, etc. to it as you like.

So, is anyone up for doing something like this? Since Wikipedia proper doesn't want us, I figure we could make our own specific wiki. Content would be everything Charas-related: history of the site, info about the generators, forum history, noted members, etc. But since wikis are collaborative projects, we'll need to work together to do it.

The only use for a wiki would be for a "Post info about your game" section, which is subject to vandalism.

I can't really see any other use for it.

However we'd need to make some sort of thing that stops people from signing up as other people.

Give them the ultimatum that if they do so, they will be banned?

A Charas Wiki would be cool, and this way there's less chance of another ordeal like the previous try.  I'm not sure how much I could contribute, but I could try.  Plus I could spelling/grammar/syntax the entries to death if you want.

Well, it's jut an idea. If someone gets really passionate about doing it, we'll do it - I'm sure we can find enough Charas stuff to fill a wiki.

It would be interesting, but I agree with Osmose here. Someone that dislikes the forum or has a bone to pick with a certain person would just eventually ruin it.

I already made one of mine on that site for the entire Brethren Steel quintology. Not done so no link, but yeh. I wouldn't need it.

Well, should it happen, we should make a system so you don't sign up.
Instead, accounts are made by Warxe or whoever is running the wiki by request on the forum. That way, we can't get boned over by trolls like Lucifer and friends.

That sounds good.
But there's always the problem of Warxe or whoever not seeing it for a while due to being away for a week or something.

Generally Useless, but fun, and I most likely will end up getting a section, so I guess it's a good idea.

This Charas wiki idea keeps seeming better and better.
