Proposal

Considering I'm Lord of the Wiki and all that, I feel like I should be the one who takes the initiative for this.

I vote that we should have a forum for discussion of the Charas-Project Wiki, for three reasons:

1) Discussion. There isn't really a place to ask questions on the Wiki (save for the talk pages, but those don't really count). And, even if there was, it would be rather off-topic - the Wiki is for keeping Charas' history in a safe place (and perhaps for other future uses of some sort), so adding a Q&A section would seem contrary to the point. Also, we could have discussion threads that wouldn't be possible in the Wiki itself, and would invite more user participation than an MSN chat.

2) Integration. Our goal is to achieve a balance between Site, Forum and Wiki, so having a Q&A or discussion threads on the Wiki would make it seem more like a separate place than a "part of Charas". And besides, other than the single thread in All of All, there's no link to the Wiki from the Forums (this doesn't really matter or anything, but it seems kind of inconvenient).

3) Improvement. Requests for adding/deleting articles (again, doable in the talk pages, but doing so on the forums widens the scope), changing the layout, modifying the sidebar, etc. Even though Wikis are collaborative projects, not everyone will be able to directly add to it; hence the point of having a place where they can suggest ways to improve the project.

So yeah, Discussion, Integration and Improvement. Really, all three are the same argument, but three reasons look better than one.

(And, before you start pointing fingers, I'm not in this for the modship - I'm sure SaiKar would make Raffles an admin before he would reappoint me.)

In favor of this? Think it's a waste of time? Feel like lynching me for even suggesting the idea? Post here.

I think its a good idea, but if we make a forum for it, I don't think it'll be that active really. It may be better if we would start with just a stickied topic on the wiki where people can ask questions and such, and if it gets too active to handle in one thread, we could make a section for it. But theres no real sence in making a section that won't be used hardly ever.

That's what I said about the RP section.
Then it managed to stay alive for some reason.

I think Wikipedia has a policy against making an article to promote your site or something like that.

I like the idea for a wiki forum. I'll create it tomorrow.

Put your Ruby Script stuff in the RPG Programming or Tutorials sections. That is what they are there for.
