Introduction

     War finds itself in the hearts of leaders.  Waiting for the time it can be released.  But when countries find themselves in this position, hatred is formed.  With hatred, how can there ever be peace?
     What becomes of enemies after the war is over?  Can they ever find a balance between peace and hate?  But what of the neutral countries?  Can old ties survive?  So many questions, and so many possible outcomes, can we really know how to create peace?

     The story takes place in a time of magic and fantasy.  Where Kings and Queens reign supreme.  It is a story of romance, death, destruction and deceit. This is a tale of A Forgotten Legend.

Kingdom Descriptions

-Latera Kingdom-
Capital: Soren
Population: 4,264
Rulers: King Augustos and Queen Miiren
History/Desc. : After the Ancients Revolution, the country has lived in peace, and has made friends with the neighboring countries.  Despite the high life expectancy rate, the country has a fairly low population, 65% of whom are from ages 10-30.

-Tequin Kingdom-
Capital: Tanzen
Population: 12,741
Rulers: King Zekix and Queen Meisa
History/Desc. : Discovered in 739, it is a relatively new country due to celebrate its 400th anniversary this year.  This country has made relatively good ties politically, however, they have been known to make bad family decisions.

-Nellaf-
Capital: Nellaf City
Population: 12,476
Rulers: Executive Larson
History/Desc. : After the Revolution of 874, it was no longer a colony of Tequin.  It chose to become a Democracy.  Its first Executive was Executive Memi, who became the first female leader of the time.  The country has since then kept good ties with Tequin, and has become a great ally to Letera.  This country does have problems with anti-equal rights organizations though.

Characters

-Daniel- (Main Character)

Age: 24
Weapon: Swords (I know its cliche, but it makes sense!)
Desc. : Born on March 21, 1115 in the Capital City of Soren (Latera), he was a child who loved swords.  Given his first sword on his 13th birthday (his mother scared to death at the time), he practiced with it everyday.  Joining the military at the age of 18, he rose through the ranks to become Captain of the Guard.  On one mission, he met Tera, the daughter of the King and Queen of Latera.  They became the best of friends right away.  Daniel soon had a crush on the royal princess, and started to try and impress her.  When the princess was captured (along with her father), he was the one to lead the rescue party.  When the party got there, however, Daniel headed to the princess himself.  Daniel is overconfident and sometimes arrogant, yet can be nice and calm.



-Tera- (Princess)
Weapon: Bow/Arrow
Age: 23
Desc. : Born January 2, 1116 to King Augustos and Queen Miiren of Latera, she was practically a child prodigy.  She could play the piano by age 4, and learned violin by age 6.  She also learned archery from her older brother Dren.  She won the Tri-Country Archery Compition in 1131.  She also has a younger sister named Leya.  One day while being escorted to a neighboring city, she met Daniel.  Unknowing he liked her, she kept her feelings to herself.  She is like the ocean, calm and flowing when she's happy, violent and ferocious when she's angry.



-Zachary- (Villian)
Age: 25
Born December 30, 1114 to King Zekix and Queen Meisa, he was a premature baby.  Weak and fragile at birth, he would grow to be a strong and healthy child.  Taking dueling (dunno if thats the right word to use) lessons at 10, he soon learned that he was fine with swords, but magic was his new passion.  And so, he learned from the mage Sai until age 23.  On February 3, 1136, King Zekix and Queen Meisa died in the Ocean from sharks (who were eaten for dinner the next day).  But instead of leaving the throne to just Zack, they left most of it to their adopted daughter, Megan (3/4 to be exact).  Zack, who had some real anger issues, took his section and created the new country of Senkard.



-Megan- (Leader)
Weapon: Saxophone
Age: 17
Adopted child of King Zekix and Queen Meisa, she proves to be an excellent leader.  Courageous and loyal, she leads the country of Tequin.  Even though she can be a bit too friendly with enemies, she does well keeping Tequin out of harm's way.  She is also gifted at the magical arts.  She uses a newly developed instrument called the saxophone to cast her spells.  She also plays it for fun, and entertains guests with it. (Saxophone is the correct spelling!!)



-Braeden- (Scholar)

Weapon: Staffs, and some other stuff I am feeling to lazy to post.
Age: 19
Born on July 5, 1120, Braeden is a very smart person.  He went to a very private school when he was younger, and now is a scholar at a local (local as in Soren area in Latera) university.  He is also the understudy of the mage Mose.  Though discouraged at times, Braeden keeps trying.  He's also generally kind and compassionate, he also feels a lot of sympathy for others.



-Ryan- (Blacksmith)
Weapon: Hammer/Hard Gloves/Axe
Age: 28
Born August 4, 1111, Ryan is a strong person.  As a child he dreamed of becoming a blacksmith.  In his teen years, he worked hard to get enough money to go work under the great blacksmith Geminis.  Brave and arrogant, Ryan is also very outgoing and demanding of attention.



-Anna- (Florist)
Weapon: Staff/Flower Scents
Age: 27
Born May 15, 1112, Anna has enjoyed flowers since she was a small child.  On warm sunny days, she would walk into the nearby forests and pick flowers along the paths.  Although, now a days, wild flowers are hard to come by.  So, she grows them for her own business, and naturally, she is a florist.  Her and Ryan have been great friends for ages, what will happen to their friendship if Ryan does go to become a blacksmith?



-Erin-
Weapon: Stick/Staff/Hard Gloves
Age: 18
Born October 3, 1121, Erin has never known her real family.  Left in an orphanage until age 16, she has lived on her own for two years.  Learning how to survive in the wilderness has made her an excellent hunter and survival guide.  She may sometimes feel heartless, but will protect her friends until death... if she had any.  Erin is collective and always knows how to get out of a tight situation.



-Killian- (Ex-Church Military Officer)
Weapon: Sword/Gun/Whip
Age: 30
Born June 11, 1109, Killian was a child of pirates.  At age 12, he was sent to a church where he worked a number of different jobs.  At age 18, he decided to join the church military and in two years became a high ranking officer.  But soon after, he killed his friend Ian, he swore he'd repent, and help the next person he saw.  But, he went into hiding instead.  Killian is shy, and doesn't talk much.  He tries to stay away from one on one conversations.

Age: 4
Born February 16, 1135.  Leya is a very young girl.  She absolutely loves her teddy Mr. Snuggles.  But in night, she disappears along with her teddy.  What happened to her?  What happened to Mr. Snuggles?



-Executive Larson- (Leader)
Age: 67
Leader of Nellaf, he works with Megan to try and keep the peace between Tequin and Senkard.  This however, is a futile effort.

As of right now, what you see it what i have.  I'm still working on some b-chars, and a lot of other stuff.  I actually wrote all of the text after I took my finals yesterday and today.

The story's looking good, complex and whatnot, but sadly right now it seems like it's filled with the old cliches we all know. Medieval setting? Check. War between various kingdoms? Check. Princesses and Kings and Queens and whatnot? Check.

In contrast, I think the characters are very well developed, hopefully they'll have an interesting back story.

As for screenshots, looking very good. Can't see any flaws except on the second one, where the sprites look gigantic in contrast with the chipset. Never been a fan of "tubby" charsets, but to each it's own.

Apart from that, I think you've made great use of those chipsets we all know and love, and you even have some chip sets I've never seen before, which is always refreshing.

Overall, a worthy addition to the "Games" section, I'll be checking this once in a while.
