Jaw Drop Distance:
Tip of Mouth Here

Bottom of Jaw here.

I guess I should've expected this. Did they say whether or not it will include Kanto?

I think this speaks for itself, what they did to red and blue with FireRed and Leaf...Green, they're doing for Gold and Silver. SUPERGOLD AND SHINYSILVER? We will see.

But for now, this is AWESOME.

Hmmm, my other panel say it's a shop. Any of our resident pixelogists here to agree or disagree?

Seems convincing enough to me, like most Japanese magazine adds, there's no room wasted.  It's so hard to tell with mediocre quality though.

[STRIKE]That site appears to have been suspended, so no help there.[/STRIKE]

Either way, neat.

I see no need to remake those two really... Nope I really don´t they are great but they are still playable.
It is more understandable that they remade the first games but those two were meh. Crystal was the first with real animations and colors or something like that huh? That deserves to be its own catagory-thingy-thing...
Umm, I never got Aeroblast with my Lugia, got it at lvl 70 or something and he learns it at 50 so no aeroblast for me, only way to see aeroblast fro me is SuperSmash really...

Nah nintendo shouldn´t do this, make a RPG or something instead... A story-like rpg not "be the best trainer and love your pets and the nature". I donno...Sleepy anyway....

I suddenly feel a bit more mature and, well, masculine than nearly everyone else on this thread for
1. Not having played Pokemon, and
2. Not giving a damn about two remakes, being far older than the game's target audience.
Oh, and my friend Nesbitt, who also answeres to Stupid or Dumbass Fag, plays Pokemon, is 18, and lives with his parents, but now pays rent to stay in his room. And this is what I associate Pokemon with. Not the most flattering image out there, is it?
*EDIT: Sorry for posting twice. My computer sucks sometimes.

And I have a friend who is 23, has his own place, is about as sharp as a spoon and plays pokemon avidly. Playing pokemon, or any game, has no correlation to any other aspect you listed. What if he played Halo instead? That game actually requires LESS brain usage than pokemon.

I actually had the same thought, but I don't care either way to figure it out. But there are some areas of discrepency.

Eh, remakes are kinda wasteful of both resources and time. You've already beaten the game, why beat it again if there's nothing else to get from it.

Can't the DS play game boy color games? Because if they can, you're just better off buying an original gold and silver on eBay for five bucks.

Magic the Gathering and Baulder's Gate are masculine?

At least you have your opinion. Good for you.  :Plight:

Personally I like Pokemon. It's a fun little RPG, no different from Final Fantasy or The Elder Scrolls. Unlike a lot of RPGs though, the battles   in the game are well thought out. Its fun. As long as you don't spend every waking minute on a game, there's nothing wrong with what you play.

I can see what you mean, but I've never liked the idea of buying every single Pokemon game. I usually wait for the longest one. Except for Crystal that's why I have Yellow, Gold, and Emerald. I like this idea because these are guaranteed to be long. They'll have the 16 gyms, over 400 Pokemon, plus the sidequests and battle mechanics from the newer games.

Edit: One more thing, they probably use remakes to train those new to the company.

I think I'm gonna buy Gold when it comes out.

The main motivation for Fire Red and Leaf Green was to allow players to get Pokemon from Generation 1 on their other games. It wasn't until Generation 3 (Ruby and Sapphire) that they made a standard format for Pokemon that allows for trading between older and newer generations.  Now the games are built to handle Pokemon from any of the games except for the first two generations.

It's funny this is brought up, pokemon is one of those games I always stop playing then months or years later I wish I hadn't gotten rid of my gameboy. But gold and silver were ****ing awesome for their time. I loved them when they came out and still do, so good. By far the best pokemon games, and if they add ALL pokemon to these and let you go to kanto and maybe the newer places, and let you do all the neat new things they came up with, this game would pwn everything.

Too bad I dont' have a DS... =(

Hum a song from any of the GameBoy era Pokémon, I'm sure most of us can ID them.

'Specially the Pokémon Center music.
