It's pretty much the other way around I think. He tries to make an unfunny comic, but it turns out to be funny.

You'd probably be surprised how much thinking goes into (some of) these comics.
Especially since I discovered I can set something up a long time ago, and then make it pay off now.

Would you believe I had "T-Rex helps David write a book" in mind way back in 066?
Even though that him reading excerpts of his book is hardly helping anyone, but there was that one comic where he almost sort of was helping.

I would buy a book of these if you had one. Megatokyo started as a webcomic but is now commercially available in book format.
