Persona 3

So, has anyone else been playing Persona 3? I got it the day it was released in Puerto Rico!...

....But it took my sister about two weeks to bring back the PS2, so I only started playing on Saturday. Up until know, I've only gotten up to the fifth floor...whoops....

I shouldn't say this, because A) It's gonna start a flame war, and B), I haven't played FFXII, but I think that this game must be better than FFXII. I mean, from the people who I've talked to, FFXII is just more of the same. Persona 3...heck...the makers really broke the mold with this one!

It's a shame we won't get FES, though; FES was an add-on disk that added almost 30 extra hours of gameplay to Persona 3, not to mention alternate endings (depending on who the main character had the best relation with).

I saw the headshot thing, and, well..... meh. It looks interesting and fun and all that, but I gotta save money for Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed. Oh, and I kinda don't have a ps2 anymore....
Anyway, what's the battle system like? Is it turn-based, or is it real-time?

I have no idea why you brought it up at all, but for the record, FFXII is very much NOT more of the same. Largely everything done in the other final fantasy games was thrown out the window. If anything, it's a little too much LESS of the same, as some things I really liked about the series were omitted for what seemed to be essentially no reason.

Pay no mind to ZKX he's talking out his butt. The likelyhood he got the game are a million to one, largely on part that it is hard to get.

I plan to get it but I'm a Megaten fan so naturally I would want to.

Seriously, I hated that game. That battles were so far between, it was just ****ing tedious. Like Tales of Symphonia. Just bleh. I just didn't find it fun. TO me its just like every other game thats made me tired of the rpg genre. Sure, it has originalitym, but in the end it all feels the same.

Well like somebody said to me when I bashed Megaman Battle Network "you've provided no solid proof to your argument and haven't give anything about the game that was good so it just sounds like you've never played it and are just bashing it because you feel like it" although I've made the quote a bit nicer from the original version.

Though I admit the monster battles could have been more frequent from what I saw. In any case your entitled to your opinion, I have not played it yet myself.

Neway, it's awesome...I'm at floor 30...It's pretty diff from the other personas, but the game has got personality, no pun inteded. I've been having fun, and the shooting the head for summoning the persona is just the most awesome thing I've ever seen.

The battles were fun, I will say that. But it's hard to balance it as Fun battle system > Rest of game. Its JUST like ToS. I HATED every aspect of that game except the battles. But if thats all I like about a game, I won't tprment myself for pleasure. There's no point in that.

The only game where getting a headshot is essential for victory! XD Darn I'm jealous that you got it already. <_<

It is yet to be confirmed. It may be released in the US at a later date.

Megaten is one sick bastard man, he's got the best and sickiest ideas...he's awesome. Digital DEvil Saga was stunning, I could barely belive such good storyline was possible.

I don't quite see the games being so much as "sick" as I've seen little in that field. To be honest I'm not too sure where the M rating came from for Nocturne and Devil Summoner as there was nothing really offensive.

The games I've played thus far are very good and the music is nothing to scoff at either. World design goes everywhere between totally abstract to a normal neighborhood or city. Variety is good.
