Hey everyone, I'm new here and was just gonna introduce myself and also ask if there's any tutorial for really big beginners?
I have RPG Maker XP and have NO idea how to use it.
So what Im asking is is there a step by step tutorial on just getting started with working with this thing?

i dont do xp but all you need to now if
how to make you game
there a lots of file's music chipset charaset
and lot's more the chipset is like you tree's home's and so on
we call this think's for you map's
charaset is for your hero's to go in


next you need to open up you game maker as you got xp

i can not help you on this sorry to say

but there lot's of use that help you

Yeah, I went and got both RPG Maker 2003 and XP and sadly,
I dont know how to use either of them...
I am ok in flash, i can understand that alright...
but id like to make a game if i could..
any way someone could tell me step by step
how to at least set up a game in either program?

Ive went through the tutorials section and none that I could find will tell you how to make a simple step by step like, opening scene, map, character placement and then one simple task... wont someone tell me the basics? lol   I open it up and get this weird layout and dont know what to do with it, its just called map0001.... im so confused...

its just called map0001 ok this you name of a map
you will see the map land  box so let's name it map land 1
you see the box up on top line 1/8 open the box next to it
you see tilesets open that then you see world map box
then next to it you see tileset file open that this is what we call
a chipset see the one you like then hit the apply box then ok

when you done that let me now

As for XP, most people here tend to use RM2k or 2k3, but those that do use the newer program are really good with it from what I've seen. Ask in the tutorials section.
