Does anyone even play RM2K/3, XP etc.. anymore?
« on: October 02, 2007, 05:57:36 AM »
I haven't opened my RM2K/3 program in almost a year. (okay I HAVE opened it but only to hear MIDI's and test a map).

I haven't played (and beaten) a full game on RM2K/3 since Romancing Walker and Kindred Saga.

Does anyone even care about it much anymore?

Well personally I think it's ace, but there is a lack of members on this forum. When I do tell me friends about it, they come out with "What!?!?!?!?! You can make RPG GAMES!?!?!?! For FREE!?!?!? AND IT'S REALLY EASY!?!?!?!?!?" and then I send them it and never see them again :D. I don't think it's that RPG maker sucks, I think it's that nobody knows about it.

If you have a good imagination, RPG maker is thousands of games in one. I do think however, when you post in the tutorials section because you are stuck, nobody helps. I've quit making about 6 games because nobody replies to my help topics, that shows an obvious lack of members.

EDIT: Woo! 100 posts!

I still play RPG Maker games. But then, I still play SNES games, and I wish Nintendo would make more of them.

I still use it a lot. Then again, I'm getting a degree in computer programming and 'maybe' game design, so this is stuff I like and plan to do for a while.

I do. It's just that nobody has been paying attention to the Games Section recently.

(AKA, Alpha Force Version III is out. God dammit, download it, so I can get some testing done and check whether its ready for GamingW or not.)

I don't really. Every so often I get fired up about some new idea, but at this point my visions are far past my ability to get them done as a one-man team. I really would love to join a worthwhile serious project to make a game, but I never see any that strike me as awesome enough to devote time to.

There are plenty of serious worthwhile projects out there, they just require real skill to be on the team (not an rpg maker game).

RPG maker games aren't meant to be worked on as a team. RPG maker itself is just a 'hobby' and no one should be trying to make a 'professional' game with it.

I still play RPG Maker games, but I usually visit Gaming World for them. I even regularly participate in the forums, and plan to release my game there if it comes out.

I'm still working on my game, but I've been having a lot of computer problems. I'm also working on the Community Game as an advisor.

I play around with it once in a while, but I'm not working on a game or anything.
