Dissidia: Final Fantasy

Anyway, as you might know, this is a fighting game being developed for PSP, which features FF characters. You could call it the SSB of FF, but you'd be wrong. the system looks to be similar to Kingdom Hearts, with the locking on and free movement etc.. Basically, each character has 2 attack varieties. one will drain the enemy's health, and one will drain their "brave". you need brave to do decent damage, so the battles will be like a constant tug of war kinda thing over who has the most brave. The game seems to feature the main hero and the main villian from each ff, plus some others.

I think garland did pretty well for some guy who started out by kidnapping some random Princess for no paticular reason.

Oh, btw, Garland is also in FF9, which you may have already know anyway. But that makes him more major since he plays a big role in that game.

didn't know about garland in ff9, but im in the process of getting ff9 off ebay right now. he's more of a natural choice for a character... can you  imagine how unbalanced playing as chaos would be?

Cloud isn't confirmed yet, but i don't think square would overlook him, he's the main hero of what some say is the best ff ever released.

How you pull off attacks-
similar to SSB, you just press the button for the type of attack you want (HP or Brave) and move the control stick.

Reaction Commands lol-
When you approach certain surfaces or objects, a small prompt will come up, similar to reaction command form KH2. if you press the button shown, you'll do some cool acrobatic move, like a wall run or a long jump. sounds like the end scene from ff7:AC.

The Environment and how to smash it-
The different stages will not be boring flat plains, the game will feature levels similar to that of a 3d platformer. the interesting bit is, you can smash most things with your attacks, but they will regenerate over time.

Level the **** up soldier!!-
You gain experience and gil with each victory (after the obligatory battle winning tune). gil can buy new weapons and hopefully other things. not much is revealed about  exp, but it should allow cool customization (and you can level up).

And regarding the PSP-
I think it will be released on the PSP first, and if it becomes popular enough, be ported to the PS2 and PS3 (via playstation network)

In FF9 its not the same Garland. At all. Just the name sake. Plus he died in like 15 minutes didn't he?

Honestly, it's be an alright game if you removed everything final fantasy from it.

But yeah, large difference between the two Garlands. One was a knightly person who kidnapped the princess for a ransom/power/something. The other one worked behind the scenes and were a mix of magician and scientist...

Hear about this a while back but there haven't been enough facts to start speculating. As long as they put a taboo on the Ivalice characters then I'm fine. No more Vaan or cheesy girls...

And by the way. Cloud of darkness is from FFIII(the japaneese and Ds game)
