Dental appointments

Freaky stuff. Just mentioning the word "dentist" can strike fear into the hearts of the bravest warriors. It really is that terrifying.

Today I had a dental appointment. I had to get FIVE TEETH EXTRACTED. Thank god for anesthesia. The molar still hurt like hell, though. It was pretty fun to play around with my mouth afterwards, while it was still numb. Anyway, tell your dentist stories. To hear tales of greater suffering than mine would bring me great pleasure. Because I'm a sick bastage like that.

The worst I've ever had is I think I beat my old record of 6 cavities with 11. I actually have very little, and very weak enamel.

Had a 6 hour suregery.

When i was a kid I had a root canal.

When I was 26, the root canal tooth splintered into four colums. Each piece was grafted to my skull from the old root canal. I was poor so I went to the dental school.

I made a horrible Mistake.

Bunch of stiches later

12 cavities later I had 3 root canals during which I couldnt afford the filling or crown and they ended removing 2 of my teeth.
( not all this happened at once)

Yeah. Bad teeth run in my family. Basically, a few remaining baby teeth were refusing to leave and let the new ones grow in. Really, they should have all been gone by now, but my teeth are messed up. Anyway, if they hadn't been pulled, they would have caused serious problems in the future.

Worst part was seeing the big huge vile of anesthesia being injected into my gums. *shudders* Not fun.

That and seeing and feeling the molar being pulled out.

I had a dentist pull my four of me teeth once. Canines or something. Then I had them crack my jaw, move it forward 2 mm, and pull my wisdom teeth. But I'm without braces right now and I don't regret a thing.

4 teeth, one was in pieces, and another looked like this:

It literally looked like they pulled a spike from my mouth.  They numbed me... but it did NOT work.

I've got one tooth extracted, because it looked like a crater. Now, there's another tooth like this, so as soon as I'll get a job, I'll have it extracted before it starts to hurt as much as the first one...

When I had it extracted, it didn't hurt. Leaving the tooth there do, though.

So, the whole wisdom tooth thing... Is that something that everyone has to do, or is it only some people? (Excuse my severe lack of dental knowledge) Because it sounds/looks damn painful.

Five? Yaowza. I had to have a tooth removed once, but that's because it refused to loosen, and there were two teeth coming in behind it (one was already almost all the way in, and the other was a permanent). It basically fell apart the instant it was removed (it was also black and had the only cavity I've ever had), so I suppose it was a perfect situation for a removal. I also have a mild case of gingivitis, and I don't think I'm making much headway on repairing that (aside from that, however, my mouth appears to be quite healthy). Oh, and I chipped my top left middle tooth in a bicycle accident. I decided to not have it capped or replaced or whathaveyou because I've grown to like that odd characteristic trait.
